@Maina4576 as promised, I report to you the questions at our landing.
To the PA: have you committed crime, in Canada or anywhere else in the world? Do you have any dependants outside Canada?
To the sponsor (me): you have an undertaking for 36 months starting today, do you still want to sponsor your wife?
Thank you so much buddy...looking forward for landing

Does the letter from our friends which can be submitted as proof of cohabitation and relationship has to contain the their personal details as in address/phone no. as well or just their name and signature is enough?

Uhm...

A letter always contains a return address and a name. If it doesn't, it's really not a letter, right?

Hello, I contacted immigration on May 26, 2017 regarding my spouse current application statues and they said right now immigration is checking my legibility as a sponsor to see if I qualify to be a sponsor, and I asked immigration what does that mean? and they said they would be checking my criminal record etc....but I feel worry for some reason. How long can it take for immigration to contact me ? has anyone being in a similar situation.??? How long did it take you to get a letter from immigration saying you qualify as a sponsor ??? right now immigration has everything and all my husband is information and he did his medical report on February 1, 2017 and we sent the sponsor application on July 1, 2016 so it will be almost a since we sent the application . i am assuming my husband is test results from his medical went well since immigration didn't contact us anymore regarding any issues with his medical exams..

Hello all,

I have been very worried about my application particularly because of my particular situation. My wife is 32 years elder than me, different religion and culture, I am South Asian and she is Caucasian.
We have known each other for 2 years before we got married and applied for spousal sponsorship December 2016. We sent a lot of pictures of us together, lot of emails, skype, watsapp.

Are there more chances of me getting rejected ??
Are there any other members here who have had similar situation and would share ??

Thanks to all in advance. We are really worried.

In our case it took 19 months to get sponsor approval. On the same day we got AIP, the next day it was DM. So don't worry about not having news, it will come. To be approved as a sponsor is quite easy. It's just a matter of time until they actually start looking at your application. Currently people gets DM after about 13 months, and most get SA, AIP and DM almost all at the same time.

Your application will probably draw more attention from CIC, but if you documented well your relationship and cohabitation, you'll be fine. If CIC has doubts, they will give you the opportunity to address their concerns. So if your relationship is genuine, don't worry about that.

Yes at the moment it's taking about 13 months. They're currently working on applications from April 2016 so give it sometime.
