with portugese passport is made in lisbon and they use DHL to send it to Canada instead of mail and we picked it up at the embasdy

But in the western world (North America and Western Europe), that's literally down the road. Like, no time to get to North America -- could be here on a plane in what? 5 hours?

But I am glad he isn't trapped anymore!

Hi all,
i really need some helps here. I already have DM, and my application has been transferred to Halifax IRCC
my application was received on Dec 31,2015
my DM was on March 10, and i received the email notifying me to wait for landing interview on March 10 as well.
Its been two months and a half, i still didn't hear anything back yet.
I called call center twice, one was two weeks ago, and the other was today. Both agents asked me to wait longer.

does anyone know how much longer i have to wait ?

I will move to Ontario by the end of June, if i don't receive the appointment letter by then, after I update new address,
will my application automatically transfer to Ontario office? Will I have to wait another two months?

If i don't want to transfer, can i put my friend's address (in Halifax) as my address?

Please Help!!!

Reach out to your local MP's office. When cases seem to get "lost" like this, that seems to be the easiest way to get it moving again...

I made that suggestion to GuyanaGirl, who (once she got a rep at the MP's office that was eager to help) was able to get a landing in short order...

If nothing else, the MP's office can sort out what's going on...

thanks cause the guy at the embassy said you could done it earlier

Yeah about 5 minutes. We got there when there was 2 others waiting (15 minutes before our 9am appointment). One (poor lady!) had forgot to read that she must pay RPRF before trying to land! So, in the lobby, she was trying to pay it on her phone!

Others showed up just after us, so the agent had to keep asking for passports. 10 couples in all showed up while we were there waiting. We were out and walking away about 8:55am.

Questions vary, but are usually:
- Have you committed a criminal offence in Canada (or anywhere)
- Have you ever been denied entry into Canada (or anywhere)
- Do you have any dependents you have not disclosed

They are not intended to be a test. It's stuff you, and they, already know. They are only validating what they have found. So, just tell them the truth, and land!

I also find it interesting that people will let their status lapse, then freak out when it comes to landing (because they have slipped into "Out-of-status" territory). Do they not think that, CIC of all organizations can't find that out or don't already know?? It's on their computer screens when they go to print out your COPR! If they invite you to an interview, and you have a DM, you are going to land. SO, relax. It's totally the worst movie ever -- there is no climax to the story. They even do it in the lobby, where everyone can hear!

Congrats @Maina4576

Haha a relief to hear that. Speaking from a "out of status" application! YIKES! Good news though.. they're currently at APRIL 11 2016!

Hello everyone,

I'm very excited to inform you all that my PR application was concluded today. I got an email invitation for a landing interview two weeks ago and it went pretty well today. Also, got my SIN number immediately after that...
I would like to sincerely thank everyone for all your useful tips, advice and suggestion which I think it has made this forum a worthwhile.

Here's the brief breakdown of the whole journey.:
Application submitted and received at Mississauga - April 14, 2016
First AOR received - May 13, 2016
Second AOR received - June 29, 2016
Received email requesting for PCC = August 10, 2016
Received email requesting for Medical = August 10, 2016
Application linked to GCKEY cic account = August 10, 2016
Visitor Visa extension received in mail = August 11, 2016
Medical test was done = August 17, 2016
OWP submitted and received at Vegreville - November 22, 2016
OWP application returned because of an omitted signature - February 22, 2017
OWP application re-submitted and received at Vegreville - March 7, 2017
OWP application returned second time and received in the mail - April 3, 2017. The reason given was that my application fees was refunded and it was not stated in the previous application and I was angry that I should have been notified in the previous returned mail.
I re-submitted it the second time, by making another payment and as well notifying them that I haven't gotten a refund as the time of submitting the application. The application was received at Vegreville - April 5, 2017
Later got a refund April 7, 2017 to the first payment.
Landing interview - May 10, 2017
Sponsorship Approval - May 12, 2017
Submitted a letter to withdraw OWP application - May 16, 2017
Application in Principle - May 17, 2017
Got an email that a decision had been made on my OWP and therefore I cannot get a refund. - May 3, 2017
Landed - May 25, 2017.
SIN - May 25, 2017
OWP - Though, I don't need it anymore but no where to be found.

Thanks to everyone once again and good luck to everyone on the waiting list....

I'm surfacing temporarily from work...need...to...breathe...

Anyway congrats to anyone who got good news since I was last here lol

As for me, we're still waiting on that passport ....

That's a scary preposition...

Profiler == Jon Snow. Ask his wife!

Not much about US... I refuse to immigrate there. I'd prefer to be broke then head there... Nice people, but socialized medicine FTW.

What's the question?

Sorry, was buried in work for the while lol. Friend got the info she needed.

I'm tempted to believe that you work at CIC *despite* you saying you're not :D

Heh.. as funny as it sounds, no I can't claim that. I work in the software industry as an engineer/developer who is part of a team that governments and super-governments (NATO/EU) buy intel information from... Commercial companies too.

I happen to know how process works, and I spent a lot of time reading the published CIC operations manuals.

True story..

So why no PPR yet??

Finally i got my landing interview in 2 weeks in Edmonton.
i am February 2016 like Profiler no DM received but my ecas shows it.
I was wondering if i can travel after my landing before receiving my PR card.

Congratulations Peaceman!! You must be so happy.
