Sorry, me again.

Just wondering about name changing.

As I still haven't changed my last name, and also want to put my English name as the legal name.

How should I do? Go to the lawyer or just do it when I get landed?

Thank you!

Land first. Otherwise it will cause confusion and delay.

You're assuming a married name, I assume? If so, go to the Ministry of the province you are in to get a change done. You will then submit that to CIC to show them there is a province that has changed your name. You will also likely have to change your passport in order to assume the same name in your travel document (Passport).

Wow, sounds annoying.

So, CIC won't even ask to change my last name when I land?

Or it is easier to do it when I get the citizenship in couple of years?

Thanks!

Hello all and good afternoon

Profiler, I have a question if you dont mind. We got the PCC request a month ago and sent the info required to the Embassy in Mexico. They sent us an email confirming receipt and letting us know the process will take a few months. Since we only have 60 days, we need to ask for an extension. The being said, there is no active request visible on ECAS or mycic, just the email request. Can I ask for an extension online for something that hasn't been requested online?

Tell them what the Mexican embassy said, and include a receipt that you paid.

Also add that you will send the PCC as soon as you get it...no problem

Why do some counteries take so long for pcc and passports

So received landing invite yesterday for May 30th at the Etobicoke location.
For those wondering. I received DM letter on March 24th. Received my landing appointment on May 15th which is at the beginning of 4th week.
And landing on the start of 3rd week. in total, from DM letter to landing 7 weeks.

and the entire process from beginning to landing 16 months.

But once you get to the finish line, who's counting right?
Thanks for the info. I m waiting for the appointment too and at the etobicoke office too. Cheers
