@profiler: So looking at the trend, do you think they have divided 2016 into 2 sub-segments (Jan-Jun, July-Dec)? In that case June will be processed last.

I don't think June would be last, but I think what they have done, is fast forwarded into the June/July pool and started cherry-picking the cases, like GuyanaGirl's where there is 10 years of relations -- very low risk, and probably paid very little attention. They will eventually start working on them in parallel with the April - June pool.

Ultimately, the goal is to reduce the "backlog" to the manageable 12 month wait. Given my predictions (adding 13.5mos to date of receipt), they would not be able to clear out the backlog, and continue to process at their current rates, without "weeding out" the easy cases up ahead. Dealing with PCC's, missing or requested docs, interviews, etc from the current active pool slows them down. The fast forward is a bit of a means to offset that.

Again, just an "educated" guess as to what is going on...

Hello,
So my husband is here in Canada as a refugee claimant, and me and him got married. So we started out sponsorship application process. Before 7 years ago he got deported back to his home country from Thailand.
Would that create a big issue right now for our sponsorship process?

The failed refugee claim was 7 yrs ago? When did you apply?

hello guys! my permanet resident application Status says DEcison made!...

Congrats. That means you will (eventually) get a DM email, and a landing invitation.

Check to see if both sides in ECAS say DM. If so, letters are coming. On my wife's side of ECAS, it only said "Medical Received" until she landed. At that point, it said that she entered Canada at Kitchener IRCC on May 5 2017 and became a Permanent Resident (3 lines on her side).

Hey everyone, for the past 8 months or so I check this forum frequently but only just now decided to sign up and join in the chat (shame on me lol) I have to admit this forum always brings me hope and makes me feel less crazy to see that people are just as frustrated as I am during this whole process.

Anyway, I do have one small question that I can't seem to find the answer to. Does my sponsor need a valid passport throughout the entire process? Her passport is going to expire in June and Money is as usual a little tight and we are unsure if her having a valid passport will affect the application. I have just recently renewed mine and cic have my updated details

Hi, Laura. No, sponsor's do not require a valid passport to sponsor someone. The PA does require a valid passport, until they claim their COPR and their PR Card has been applied for.

We went 9 months with our upfront (submitted with application) until they approved it. Then 2 days for the second (once submitted). If you completed a previous medical, and you have submitted the eMedical print out that the panel physician should have given you, then I would just not worry about it. If you can't stop worrying, contact an MP, as the people at the call centre won't be able to help with this...

Ok perfect, thank you so much. Just don't want to give cic any reason to prolong the application lol luckily my passport has just been renewed for 10 years so I'm covered now :D congratulations on your application btw, must be an amazing, stress relieving feeling
