Hello everyone:
We have our in-land sponsorship application under processing since Dec. 2016. Recently, my wife got her passport renewed. So I was wondering whether we need to send a copy of her new passport to CIC. If yes, what would be the best way to do so?

Thanks for your time!

Yes, just scan a copy of the biographic page. Send that via the IRCC web form (Case Specific Enquiry)...

You can still check your application status. Just look for "use the online tool, which updated daily" under paper application section, then click on online tool.

Diabetes? You haven't been dipping on Sugary Tuesday's and Thursday's, have you??

Gateneau makes sense.. pretty close to l'Ottawa, right? Them taking the fee isn't a guarantee. They happily took our fee March 1 2016... we need to get you through the additional proofs part...

When people say they're in the second stage, they're referring to the old flow diagram that used to be in the processing manuals. Stage 1 is SA and they assess the applicant for eligibility. When they are done, they send a message notifying of the decision (this is AIP inland; APR outland).

So the AIP marks the exit of stage 1 and entrance of the final stage (where they assess the medical, security and criminality; called admissability). That decision is DM..

They are happy to take the RPRF any time. They keep it in escrow (on account) until they're done. If they issue a PR, or pass the processing stage, then they take that fee (and you can't have a refund). So they took the $75 you paid for Sponsorship Approval. They haven't taken the $475 for his PR app yet...
