@Profiler: Do you by any chance know if the sponsor misses a call of CIC officer (and her VM was also full), what is the next step to do? Apparently they called my wife while she was in a meeting. She tried to call back but it went to her VM. Another question, how can I get the details of my eMedical my doc uploaded to CIC ? Just curious if I can ask CIC for it or my doc or neither or both?

Thanks

Sam

How does she know she missed it? Can you share that?

You can make a request under Privacy Act to CIC's ATIP for Medical Notes.

I am wary with the numerous reports. Perhaps the Immigration Telephone Scam has resumed.

Please read: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/protection/fraud/internet.asp

EDIT: Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre has reported the CIC phish again. See: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1474105122629082&id=143784455661162&__tn__=%2As

Check the CIC website for instructions on getting your visa extension/renewed.

Also be mindful of advise to not leave the country and as inland applicant...IF you are for some reason denied reentry then your application will be deemed abandoned. Some people have had no issues....some people have had issues.

Where in Guyana are you from, if you don't mind me asking

Yea thanks for the heads up...maybe i will just wait till the app is completed. I am from West coast dem...how abt u

Apparently she called and my wife missed but when she called back officer's VM said immigration this is blah blah, citizenship..specialist at service Canada. Do you think it is a scam? If she asks for application no or address or things like that should we divulge?

Hello Guys,,,,,
Update:-- Application received on 9th may 2016 , nothing received since then, received FBI police clearance request today.

Doubts:-
1) I stayed in USA for 1 year but not 6 months in one stretch. Like 4 months, then came to canada, then again 5 months, came to canada again. its clearly mentioned that if you have stayed for more than 6 months. They count the total duration irrespective to the exits?
2) Can someone guide on the FBI clearance process. They gave me exact one month to submit which is not at all possible .?
3) How much time does it takes post i submit my FBI reports to CIC.

Also, i have to get the FBI reports on my personal address and then post to CIC mentioning file number and UCI. FBI should not send directly to CIC right.

have a nice day friends ! looking for your response :)

See this is the type of thing that makes me so mad...these damn phone scams

Today I got a call form some people with the police association, looking for donations for children's activities..kidsandcops or something...I was basically told the fella I am not giving my credit card information over the phone to anyone..and his tone turned into a judgy kind of "uh huh....sure....uhhhhhhhhhh huh" ..really ? I spent the rest of the day feeling like horse crap because I was second guessing if I should have donated or something...

Ok I'm done ranting

yeah, we are going to forego any travels for now until the application comes through...I rather play it safe at this point and get this over with. Research and make an informed decision for your self.

Take your pick, I lived everywhere....Berbice born, but lived in Wales for years before I immigrated here...My life was very nomadic lol

LOL! Sounds like an awesome show for TLC/Travel and Escape

At one time I wished that I lived in the same spot all my life, moving as a teen was difficult
BUT grown up VooDoo Explorer has now come to appreciate the value of it...

*sigh* now I miss going on my adventures outdoors...WHERE IS SUMMER!

Not much happening in Wales lol.

Vreed en hoop ?

As I posted before, CIC *might* call to ask for some additional info for case processing. They will not ask you for simple things that were included on your application to "verify your identity" (DOB, Passport Number, etc.).

Realistically, it's easy for them to send you a message too. If they don't get you on the phone, they'd just send a document request via email / mail / myCIC message. Job done.

It's my opinion here, that it's far better for them to waste the 15 seconds to type into a computer what they want from me, and send it (there would ALSO be a record on file of what was talked about!!!) rather than pump me for information during my work day. If that "letter" costs me a day in processing her application, so we all have peace of mind, I am down.

Also, they should NOT be asking anyone who has SA for financial documents. Family Class is exempted from income assessments!
