You can apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document from a Canadian visa office abroad as soon as you reach your destination.

Where are you travelling to? I think you can show them proof of travel and ask them to expedite. I know someone who did that.

What?! You sound like the missus now... And you cannot pass on Fish & Chips on a friday! That's sacreleg!

Alright, truth be told: I was seconds away from ordering a big greasy burger, and then I saw a waitress come from the kitchen with F&C. I changed my order 15 seconds later. Though, I might have to make it up to the missus later -- I had fish and she didn't...

Las Vegas, so how does this work?

LOL @ Las Vegas.

This might not work for you.

See link below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-urgent-processing.asp

You will need to submit an application for a permanent resident travel document (PRTD) to the visa application centre (VAC) which serves the country and area you are visiting, once you are outside Canada.

If your return flight to Canada is in less than six weeks and you are concerned with receiving the PRTD in time, please ensure to mark your application “Urgent” and provide your travel dates and flight itinerary when applying.

The PRTD is only valid for one (1) re-entry into Canada. Without a PR card or a PRTD, you will not be able to travel to Canada except by private vehicle.

Learn more about what happens after you apply for a PRTD.

I want to move to Kitchener. Wish I was landing there too. I like the small town feel of it (from the way you type about it when you were explaining where the Service Ontario and Service Canada are) but it would take me too long to get into TO.
