Hello,

So I am from Scotland, hubby is Canadian, and we put in an inland application in September 2016 and they began to process it at the end of October. I received my OWP last week.

We having been looking at OHIP since, they tell me I need confirmation from CIC that we are eligible to apply for PR, I wondered when everyone else got that and what it looked like?

Thanks for the help!
Laura

I'm currently one of the people waiting to receive an OWP (app received by CIC Nov 4, 2016). I have an OHIP card at the moment but it will expire on March 8th, along with my IEC visa which reverts me to Temporary Resident status after that point. I've been working full time in Canada since April 2015, so I'm wondering what I need to do to renew my OHIP card once the OWP comes in. Do I just need to provide proof of employment as I did before or is there more to it? I noticed a few messages mentioning AIP so I wanted to confirm what I needed to do. Thanks for your response/s in advance!

XKevinX you DO NOT need AIP to get OHIP if you receive the work permit and you have a full time job. When you receive your work permit, bring an employment letter with proof of address to a full service Ontario and you will get coverage. I am speaking from experience. That's what I did.

Perfect. Thanks Que!

When did you apply for owp?

Nov 4th. The most recent updates for OWP's on the spreadsheet are from Oct 11th :(. Due to the type of Work Permit (IEC) that my husband (xkevinx) is on, if we don't physically receive his OWP by March 8th he has to stop working until it comes in the mail. He is the bread winner and we are expecting our baby April 5th. Oh the stress.

I m waiting for my owp too and my partner is pregnant too..hopefully i ll get it before she cant work anymore....pls God hear our prayers... :)

If you are currently employed, show proof by getting a letter from your employer stating you work there, how long and salary. you will receive your OHIP card without AIP. this is how I got my OHIP

We having been looking at OHIP since, they tell me I need confirmation from CIC that we are eligible to apply for PR, I wondered when everyone else got that and what it looked like?

Get an email from CIC where they can confirm that he has the right to keep working due to implied status
