Hi Guys!,

My application was received on June 6th. CIC says that my background check is in progress. I linked my application online. When i sent my application i also included my OWP app. as well. How can I linked my OWP online so I can check the status?
Thank you for your help! :D

My Application was received on 30-Mar-2016 and it still shows background check as "not started". Any March 2016 application showing background check still as not started?

Hey Browning911 -- how are ya??

I am curious, when did you submit the documents they asked for?

Hi Profiler. I submitted them in 1-Sep-2016 after I received the GCMS notes on 31 Aug 2016 saying they sent the two e-mails in Jun 2016 which we never received.

I wonder if, in your case, it was a revised form... But in any case, when did they claim they sent the notice?

I am wondering if you are in the next wave of group targeting for SIR. They don't work on every case everyday, so my guess is next time yours comes up they will assess your case for SIR. I have a good feeling about that :)

BTW, I got the GCMS notes for sponsor but it does not show much.

The notes were generated on 2 Sep 2016 and I received them on 28-Sep-2016.

Family Classs Sponsorship
Status: Not Started

Eligibility: 1
Status: Not Started

Also it says that "page 9 is withheld pursuant to section 26 of the Privacy Act" and "page 11 is withheld pursuant to section 26 of the Privacy Act"

yeah my sponsorship app says they redacted pages 10-12 pursuant to section 26 as well. If you request all the notes (Both applications) and you submit the consent form they will include those details.. (I *think*)

The note requesting the two forms to be redone was supposedly sent on 2-Jun-2016. The note said that the forms needed to be updated.

The note for AOR2 was sent on 30-Jun-2016.

I think that after the next GCMS notes (PA) come I will not request them until Dec 2016. The reason I requested the PA notes again is to see if they will reflect that the requested forms were received.

Have you requested any more notes?

No, we did submit some additional relationship proofs. So I was thinking to request again in November so we have an idea what to expect before the new year. Then we might order again in the New Year. Might do every 60-90 days, unless something critical comes up. We aren't too worried about an interview. We have done as much as we could now to avoid the need, but if they choose they want one, we are confident we will be successful anyway.

Same here. I am not worried about an interview. I just wanting to know that the file is moving along.

The thing that is worrying me is that I spoke to someone today and he said that he just went to the final interview at Etobicoke office where they asked them the usual three questions and he got his PR. We were talking and he happened to mention that he also did a fingerprints for a police check in Canada. Does PA have to do this? We only did one for home country because that's all we thought was required.

I don't think it's a requirement for St. Lucia is it? It wasn't for Russia, but her passport contains the biometric data anyway. With respect to Canada, no they don't require this as far as I know -- they certainly have not asked for it from us..

EDIT: It is in Appendix B of the guide, but the checklist does not ask for it. And I know for us the regional-specific guide for the CIS didn't request them. When they sent the PCC to us, they only asked for a PCC from Russia too. So, I can only assume it's ok. If not, we will sort it out. I don't think it's too much of a big deal anyway.

not every applicant has to do an RCMP check, so just because this person had to do it, doesn't mean your spouse will. CIC will advise the applicant if it will be required for their application. it's not a requirement for the application, it is usually only needed by an "Additional request" by cic.

Thanks Profiler and CdnPR2014!
