AOR - usually the sponsor receive it, sometimes the applicant, sometimes both, sometimes none.
"This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on *** on behalf of the following member(s): ***"

\Thank u..

Can i ask you one more question? My friend's spouse is approved as a sponsor last month. Is it possible for my friend to apply for his open work permit online? The cic website says that if the application is approved in principle, he can apply online. Is it same as SA?

SA - AIP for the sponsor.
This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class you submitted to this office on behalf of ***.
You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence (APR) for your relative will be processed separately and he/she will be contacted shortly.

AIP for the applicant.
This refers to the Application for Permanent Residence you made under the Spouse or
Common-Law Partner in Canada Class.
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent
residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. Please note that
a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent
resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks
for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they
are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident
until you and all your family members have met these requirements.

Normally AIP comes short after SA.
Does the sponsored person have legal status in Canada? If so, they don't need AIP for applying to an OWP.

Hi,

I have a couple of questions. So my fiance and I are planning to move to another house. On the CIC website says that we can both change our address online but then it says,

Step 2 – Gather your documents

You may need documents related to your application, including one or more of these:

a copy of your application
your fee receipts (IMM 5401)
any letter or official document issued to you by CIC

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
WILL THEY ASK ME TO RE-SUBMIT PAPERS?
WILL MOVING MAKE MY APPLICATION PROCESS GO SLOWER?

We have been skipping the move because of this and we don't want to spend more money on sending in papers or getting another full - complete application package ready.

Thanks!

That blurb about paperwork is if you are calling the CIC Call Centre. That way you can reference things like UCI and Application Number. You can change it online in myCIC, ECAS (CIC Check Status), CSE (Case Specific Enquiry), or by calling the Call Centre.

It's just a page they send you. No passport required.

Thank you

Did anyone get any news from CIC today?

I am patiently waiting for them to resume rubber-stamping...

I got notice that my background check has started on Saturday!!

Hopefully moving forward now - at least it is being looked at!

Hi All,

Last OWP I saw was received on September 20th for the person whose OWP application was received by CIC on 24th May, is there anyone else who received OWP after that?

No news. No GCMS notes. Nada. Nothing. Nil.
