Another question how long after cic gets the police certificate do we hear from them. After he did his medical in July it took nearly two maths before we heard from them. I really hope and pray it doesn't take that long. Want my little girl to experience Christmas here in Toronto.

For me, sent PCC to CIC on Jun 20, received confirmation of receipt on July 14. That doesn't mean they have done anything with it though.

Wow really?? Here they don't. Even expired OHIP and DLs they just hand them back to you.

I checked with Transport Dept in Australia and they said it is the norm for Canada. Ontario is only province that lets you keep both licences. Maybe they're worried that you can lose one licence and continue to drive on other licence. Not sure how you lose a licence in Canada though when speed signs seem to be there for decoration rather than enforcement. ;D

Turns out, if you do have a DL in another country (there is a list of them), and you don't want to start at the beginning again, you can renounce it (and trade for a Canadian one). We didn't go that way as my wife really didn't drive much in Moscow -- it's a deadly scary place to drive. If you are looking for a laugh, checkout the fail army videos on youtube ... the best one was 'ode to russia'. No wonder she is afraid to move a car...

As to your comment about our road decor, yeah you are right here. Almost everyone I know views speed limit signs as more of a guideline. In Ontario, as long as you don't get a fresh officer, you can typically get away with 20km/h over. Most won't even move their car for under that. The minimum penalty for speeding is $50 and no demerit points... For doing 30km/h over it's $295 and 3 demerit points. Of course, if the driver is brain dead and do 50km/h over they can seize your ride and your license on the road side, and issue a $10,000 fine. A drunk driving charge can also land you without a license. Or killing someone with a car. Or not paying child support. Or too many demerit points lost at a time. So, just like daily wine and beer drinking, in moderation speed is acceptable.

Bex, you don't need to be a citizen or permanent resident to apply. You simply need to be currently living in Canada, which you are (I assume). So you can skip that consent form and apply for yourself under the Privacy Act.
To send a request you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently in Canada.

I sent my OWP off on August 25, 2016 and I cant add it yet. Ive tried a couple off different combinations but it still isnt coming up. It may be that I am trying too early but i thought there is no harm in asking!

I sent OWP with PR but that was back on 11th May and i still cant link. tried every option, even started a chart of the different selection choices i had done to cover all areas and still no look. I called CIC and they said they would send me an email with something else to try but that was over a week ago and no email from them!!! I have been approved for OWP on 25th August but its still not here in the mail..... happy days.....

We didn't get a pdf copy, but my guess is the protected paper that service canada can use the UV light on to determine authenticity.

I applied August 9th. Got first AOR Aug 31 and just received second AOR on Sept 16th. But this time it came to my email.
Does it mean that my application is complete or everybody gets these emails regardless?
I managed to link my application online to my profile and says it's open, everything else not started/not needed. in ecas says - in process, application received.

We are also inland Russia applicants. We didn't see an AOR2. Apparently it is common. We are also in a similar state. Only difference is Background Checks for us is in progress.

PDF just has basic info that it has been approved - Permit Type, Validity Date & Document Number and nothing more. Original has the specific details of work restrictions etc.

We received AIP which is the second AOR just for the applicant by email and the first AOR by mail.
Looks like the same process to me .. not long after AIP was sent in the mail we were sent the request for passport and then medical.

AIP is not the second AOR. I have AOR 1 & 2 but no AIP.
