Thank you profiler, i just want to emphasize too that my PCC is almost 4 months old when they received my inland application.

Ours was a little older. Our medical was a month old at that time, and it looks like they have not even looked at it before starting background checks. Frustrating, because it's easy enough to open it and accept the document is there and legit.

Totally understand the frustration. In the end, when they hand you your PR (or Citizenship, if you want to go that far), it will all be worth it, and you will only tell funny stories about stressing out about it ;)

Did you send the OWP application in at the same time?

I just did a quick date math -- 4 months ago from today was April 29th.

Anyone who has yet to receive the OWP (or, magic beanstalk), and you have an AOR from before April 29, you should perhaps be chasing CIC (IRCC).

Yes, i did send both at the sametime, but the only thing to worry is the work permit was expired 6-7 months.

You had a previous one? Well, I would definitely be calling to find out what happened to it -- that's $250 you spent to get it! ;)

By the time i applied, the permit was expired 6-7 months , in other word it was Out-of-status or
Lack-of-status, that is why it takes more than 7 months and no OWP or SA , AIP etc
It stalled on Status, probably the CIC will get CBSA involded with this matters.

I would be surprised if you didn't get it this week, you are exactly 1 week in front of the latest posters who have just announced seeing their permits being authorized on line...normally that's 4-7 days before it shows up in the post (could even come today).

My fingers were crossed on today after doing the math, but unfortunately, the Post came and only delivered junk. Hoping both sides can come to an agreement so a strike is avoided!

you can only apply for WP if you are in status. in your case you have to wait until you get AIP. You might get AIP soon as many people from January to end of March already received it.

good luck! hopefully your situation will clear up soon.

Hi, do you mean that if my pgwp is expired and i need to wait for more than 4 more or AIP to get the new work permit? :o

That's correct. See: http://settlement.org/ontario/health/ohip-and-health-insurance/ontario-health-insurance-plan-ohip/who-is-eligible-for-ohip/

"You applied for permanent residence and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) confirmed that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence in Canada. This means that you have "approval-in-principle." "

Thanks a lot Profiler! I had no idea it was possible :)

the answer to that is...it depends.

IF you applied for your OWP prior to your work permit expiring, then you are indeed fortunate and should dance the happy dance, as you are now in implied status, and can work right now under your old permits conditions, until the new one is approved/not approved...yes right now.

IF you had status when you applied, be that TRV, etc...I mean LEGAL status in the country, visitor record etc...then you will wait approx 4 months for the OWP (i would remind everyone that if you are within 90 days of having lost legal status, you can apply for resumption of status)

IF neither of the above apply, your OWP will not be processed until your PR application gains approval in principle (AIP)...throw a dart at the board, and take a ticket, as to when that will happen.

Thanks Zumbag , but the situation doesn't look good, the CBSA can remove the applicant out of the country.☹️

No it's Canada being fair ;) ...We have North America, Europe, and Australia, next will be Asia, Africa and the Antarctic...think I'll claim I'm half Eskimo, half African and send them a picture as proof of me in a melted igloo, and my sled being pulled by zebras .

You killed me hahahaha Cand1anAl1en.
