Hey just asking anyone who applied in January 2016 and has been granted pr?

According to the spreadsheet, no January 2016 applicants have been granted their PR but three (3) March 2016 applicants have been granted their PR which equals the total of all 2016 applicants that have received their PR. All of those applicants were from "first world" countries.

Having an OWP can you work in Montreal? was there any other requirements? being on implied status, waiting for inland PR application.

thank you

Open Work Permit means exactly that: You can work anywhere for any company, providing it's not in the sex trade...

Which 3 "first world" countries?

Good morning all, I feel like I've been living in the dark for the past few months and I've finally found a light at the end of the tunnel by finding this forum!

I sent in my PR, husband's spousal approval and work permit in April, and received the email from CIC June 29th saying they received my husband's spousal approval application and my application for PR on May 4th. My husband received his email on June 2, and by checking the application status online it says they began processing his spousal approval on June 1st. I have received no notification at all about the work permit, and I have been unable to link the paper app with my GCKey account, and I'm worried. What I've read this morning on the forum regarding this is inconclusive - some folks receive notifications about their work permit, have been able to link their paper app to their online account to check and others have no idea what's going on until they actually receive their permit in the mail.

Should I call CIC? Do the 110 days start on May 4th when they received everything or June 1st when they began processing his spousal approval? I've been here since April and my visitor visa runs out in October, and I am soooooo ready to have a job, but I am worried something's gone wrong with the work permit application. Can anyone give me any insight on this to calm my nerves?

Thanks in advance!

May 4th is when the clock starts. It's up to them to move the application to Vegreville, AB (which they will do). You don't lose any time for that.

Don't fret -- the OWP seems to be hit and miss. But they almost always are in the mail right around the 4 month mark. You might be able to call CIC and ask how to sort out connecting a myCIC account to it.

As I previously said on this thread: for us it's like a magic beanstalk. Just sprouted from the mailbox one day, after months of hearing nothing...

Thanks a ton for your quick reply! Navigating all of this and maintaining my sanity hasn't been easy... If the clock started May 4th, it should have been done by August 22nd, which means hopefully I get it in the mail this week. Fingers crossed.

I would be surprised if you didn't get it this week, you are exactly 1 week in front of the latest posters who have just announced seeing their permits being authorized on line...normally that's 4-7 days before it shows up in the post (could even come today).

No it's Canada being fair ;) ...We have North America, Europe, and Australia, next will be Asia, Africa and the Antarctic...think I'll claim I'm half Eskimo, half African and send them a picture as proof of me in a melted igloo, and my sled being pulled by zebras :P

i just did the CSE regarding our PCC second request (Just to be satisfied) because i forgot the say on the letter that my PCC was less than 6 months old when they received it. It's been 2 weeks since i submitted it in the CPC Vegreville asking for any update.

Is that okay?

Thank you

Of course it's ok to ask them questions -- that's why they have the CSE :).

To be honest: Living here for nearing 40 years, and dealing with most of the government agencies at all levels, I can honestly say, CIC (IRCC) has the worst response / follow-ups I have ever seen. So, if you ask them, perhaps they might become a little more pro-active..

I know I sound ridiculous -- but I needed some hope ;).

Thank you profiler, i just want to emphasize too that my PCC is almost 4 months old when they received my inland application.
