Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

I've already change my mailing address online the after 5 days the mailing address box is removed, The Home address box that's left on my ECAS. I updated it again the following day (mailing address) and now few weeks later still the same. I guess we have to adjust the way CIC handles the ECAS.

Do they ask for medical once everything is done with application? I got an email asking to send medical.
Do they send an email for SA also? I have not received any email for SA. Not even OWP.

Just wondering how they can ask for medical even before SA, I thought medical was the last step.

No, depends on the VO, with the backlog program they check everything is in place prior to streamline processing...Police checks, medicals etc etc...if they have asked for it, I would do it if it was me and not question it.

According to the CIC online my wifes OWP just got approved yesterday July 8th. Now we'll see how long it takes to get here with the issues at Canada Post...

I'm wondering the same, it doesn't seem like it is possible to link it to her PR application on the site, it just has the PR info, but nothing at all about the OWP application

You need to create a My CIC Profile. There you can attempt to link the OWP to the profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/account.asp

Starting in a couple weeks (July 23rd or shortly after), you should also be able to link the Applicants PR profile

AK16, I am assuming that you are applying inland? When did you submit your application?

We have also not received SA or our work permit.

We did our about two weeks ago, on 27th June, 2016, (after we submitted Sponsorship, PR and OWP applications--Submitted 30 Mar 2016). The doctor informed us that it would take 2 weeks too send to CIC. Since principal applicant did not have a UCI we gave the doctor the UCI on the visior extension. They have not asked us for our medical.

You can do an upfront medical, which is doing the medical before CIC requests it or you can wait until CIC requests it, as in your case.

My phone number has changed and I need to update it. However, couldn't find any option online to change the phone number, the link only allows change in address.

I do not think CIC runs a police check on Sponsor.

However, I think sponsor should change address to reflect what is on application.

Thank you again for your responses! Will get him to change licence. Just a thought though.... There is several things that make a sponsor inadmissible like having violent crimes committed or crimes against family also currently being in jail can stop you from being able to apply. I know that the sponsor signs the evaluation and the undertaking but i would think that they would have to run police checks to ensure that the person sponsoring has no criminal history along those lines.

Yeah, I did police check and medical up front. I've live in three different countries over the past few years so I thought I get it all out of the way beforehand. I also added a Canadian police check (lived here twice for about a year int he past ten years), which I later learned was unnecessary (but the commissionaires here told me otherwise, so who knows...)

Thanks. That's the problem with this whole process isn't it - you can get advice from lots of different avenues but at the end of the day it's up to CIC officer themselves and they can't be contacted for the advice until you're too far gone in the process to actually need much advice. Same with everything though, not just CIC.

Hello everyone, I submitted my PR application and OWP on March 3 2016, and received AOR 1 in May and AOR 2 in June. However, I have not received the OWP yet nor my sponsor has received a sponsorship approval. The processing time for Work Permit paper application is 101 days and in my case, its roughly around 120 days now. So, I was wondering if any applicants from March and before are waiting for their work permit approvals.
