Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Good Afternoon.

while checking my application status online i found out that my mailing address is incorrect, Different from my home address. So i did change it online based on the instructions 5 days ago. Now i checked application status but the CIC remove the mailing address box right next to the right box of home address. What's the problem on this?

I think they must still be having problems with the site. We changed mailing address over 3 weeks ago but changes don't seem to have been affected as yet but on Sponsor login we only have Home Address now, no mailing address. Applicants login still shows wrong mailing address but also shows correct home address. Beginning to think I only dreamt that I changed it. But, it also only shows:

1. We received your application for permanent residence on February 17, 2016.

They have sent me AOR2 as well as request for Police Check and they are not listed which I thought they should be, so I'm assuming that the system hasn't been updated for quite a while. There is a

Date modified: 2016-05-02 on the page so I don't know if that is just for the formatting of the page or that the information regarding the application hasn't been updated since then.

One day they will sort out all the clitches in the system. It would be a massive job to get it all up & running properly. Surprises me that they didn't go to a system where you apply directly online to start with instead of paper based & then immigration staff inputting to the system. Must be a method in their madness I guess - probably money restraints.

Finally got OWP in the mail yesterday BUT they've made a mistake & excluded working in the health field. That's as handy as a pocket in a singlet for a nurse. Did the same thing with IEC application & had to reapply for work permit & pay again because it was done online & had no copy of original as proof & couldn't get into original application. You live & learn so have copies of everything this time so hopefully it will be fixed without paying again.

On the upside, got an email today requesting Police Check for PR application. I think that must mean "You have progressed in the queue." Yay!

Wow CIC evens seem to be moving along with the PR application too.

we also got a request for additional docs, the strange thing is that we have to send the additional docs to Vegreville not the Mississauga.

how about you guys?

Experts:
is this mean that inland sponsorship applications are processed all over the country not only in Mississauga?

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will expand its annual quota of admissions for foreign spouses married to Canadians by 25 per cent to 62,000 in 2016 in response to complaints of a frustrating backlog and long processing time.

The department also announced this month it would prioritize the so-called “straightforward” cases involving foreign spouses and applicants who are already in Canada that were received before June 13.

Received approval of OWP via myCIC yesterday.

prioritise applications received by 13th june....mine got there on the 3rd but they take 4 weeks to open the sodding envelope!!!

Always seem to miss the boat...didn't apply outland as processing times seemed the same...now outland UK are going through to PR in 4 months!!

Now i will be right behind the "prioritised"

(ottowa is taking up processing...very very fast turnarounds)

Does anyone from the January applicants received any request for medical and police check? Im a jan 20th applicant and still no word from cic. ( but i did get my OWP) Just really worried right now

browning911- Application received 17 Feb, OWP showed approved on CIC on 3 June, Visa physically received 16 June, Police Check requested 17 June. Had IEC previously and then had problems with immigration not processing my work visa correctly first time, so already had my own UCI & quite a lot of my details/communication would have already been in the system. Maybe that has something to do with my application seeming to be going ahead a little quicker than most??

I sent my Spousal Sponsorship application via courier in late March 2016. As of today I still have not heard back anything from CIC. Canada Post website confirms the package has been received at CIC Mississauga office.

Is this normal? How can I contact the CIC?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

According to the CIC agent I phoned this morning, they are opening OWP applications that arrived on 15th Feb or before and they are issuing the permits on the same day they open them.

This is good news. Hopefully March OWP will be processed soon too.

Thanks for the info Sipfarms. That means your OWP took approximately 4 months to receive in post. The average time for 2016 OWPs is 110 days. Based on that I am hopfeul that ours will come between between 18 July and 29 July, 2016.
