Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Just found out this morning that my AOR was send out on 13th April. Still not received anything in the post regarding it but I now have a UCI number to check on the status of my application. Fingers crossed the OWP comes soon

Hi everyone! So I got the AOR letter and my OWP. What happens next? I read some stuff here about stage 1 and stage 2 and a bunch of abbreviations which I'm not familiar with. I would really appreciate some insight here ;D And also, someone advised me not to do my medical yet until the CIC requires it because there are cases that they will ask you to re-do it because it's already expired, so I decided to go with that. My question is, should I wait for the request or have it done after a year and submit it with their request and would it make the process a little faster if I do the latter? Thanks guys!

I applied on 3rd February this year and they received the application on 5th February. I am hoping as the AOR was done on 13th April my OWP will come through 4 - 6 weeks after this date. That would be within the 4 month time frame they are saying people can expect their OWP in.

We sent our application out in February and it arrived Feb 20th in Mississauga. Since then... Nothing. Silence. We're on Vancouver Island and my husband tries to blame it on the "remoteness" of our location (lol), but I'm just getting anxious about them sending everything back and having to re-do everything again if my police certificates run out (I've lived in four different countries over the past 10 years...) and having to re-do the medical exam.

Anybody here still waiting for their AOR? It's getting pretty lonely in the excel-sheet for my application date...

i think ive read just about every post on the forum regarding spousal sponsorship and a list of other websites and there seems to be some people not getting AOR and getting their OWP send to them as a first 'contact'. I'm guessing you sent an OWP request with your application?

Hi Ringlands - thanks for your response! Yes, we did send an OWP application - if that happens I'm in heaven... I'm however a bit insecure as we made a small mistake in our application and am really hoping the will be lenient with us... Let's hope for the best.

Don't worry, you want to wait at least 4 months (which will feel forever) until you call them to ask what's going on if you haven't received OWP by that time. What was the mistake if you don't mind me asking?

2 months has been already hard, especially when checking the spreadsheet here... But I'm preaching to the choir! My mistake was to forget the "N/A" on IMM 5406 (I don't have any dependent children, etc). Rookie mistake but both my partner and I completely didn't register when we reviewed the paperwork for the nth time. Have you sent your application in already?

Mailed Inland Spousal Sponsorship Application, Permanent Residence Application and Open Work Permit Application to CPC Mississauga on 28th March, 2016. Was received on 30th March 2016. Did not submit a medical yet.

Wow much faster than I thought, just received our AOR in my email yesterday, Canada Post delivered our application in Mississauga March 22nd.

Quick question, my Wife is here on a TRV that still hasn't expired, now that we have received our AOR does this grant her implied status?

Sent my application to CIC to sponsor my husband on March 20, 2016
got a email today stating that it was received March 21, 2016. Now we play the waiting game.
Husband has been out of status since August 2008, so this is a very nerve wrecking process.

Hi everyone, my partner and I are going to apply for sponsorship by the end of the year. I'm not sure if anyone has experienced extending their visa. Would it be good to ask for more than 6 months or would that be risky? I'm also wondering if the implied status period is separately counted from the intended duration of stay. Let's say my status ends on June 1st, could I put in the form I wish to stay June 15th to Dec 15th or should I put June 2nd to Dec 2nd? Let's say I'm on implied status from June 2nd to June 15th, would they give me until Dec 15th as extension? Sorry if my question is a bit confusing. ???
