My wife also got an electronic letter informing her the landing date. However the online CIC profile hasn't been updated to 'Decision Made'.

Could this be an error?

It would be interesting to know what are really involved in these background checks.
Especially when you observe other applicants, through the express entry and others , seem to just fly in the diamond lane.
Seriously, what could take so long?
When the us wanted bin Laden, it did not take that long to find who he was, so really!!!! Seriously??????
Really for those who sit n worry and stress, themselves. . . Including me at times lol.
God got this one covered. . . So take it easy. Dont let background check causes you to pay the doctor after all this is over.

I have got sponsor approval today , CIC received my spouse application on 6th June 2016, almost an year.

Also my wife received medical exam request, we submitted upfront medical though, not sure if it is not valid after an year or it was system generated email sent to all the people, if anyone have clue please suggest.

Checked status this morning....both status now say "decision made"...nothing else has changed anywhere...should I be happy? nervous? worried? or all of the above? lol!!

Yeah it will wildly vary depending on the office closest to you (based on postal code). Some are a day or two, some are 8 weeks. But, DM with none of the other bad stuff (negative letters, etc) means you're going to land.

Indeed, happy dance is in order.

well, from the time you will get a DM letter, your landing appointment will be 1-10 weeks later, depending on your location (Montreal, Etobicoke and Vancouver are the busiest offices).

So, there is a long technical description, and the elements involved can vary wildly based on things they uncover when they start flipping the rocks of your past over. They'll call to verify paperwork you submitted, call past employers, etc. If they start finding derogatory stuff, they will dig as deep as sending operatives to trace your footsteps....

If not, then simple calls will suffice.

I had a dream few nights ago, i dream i got an email with DM. . .
In the morning my wife said, hon i dont know what was happening in your sleep, but your hands were above your head and you were just dancing in your sleep.
I said to myself
Why you (me) had to wake up
Ofcourse imdid not mean that. . . . LOL
I AM HAPPY TO SEE THE EMOTIONS OF SOME OF THE APPLICANTS WHO ARE AT THE END

So whats the use of pcc?
If an individual have "suspicious past". Thats not difficult to find, the first gravel that jumps up , might cause the red flag
But
When the person is clean. . . Should it really take , 5,6,7 etc months?
I am ok with it being a process, i accept that. I think its a process that can be improved for greater efficiency.
There is the saying
"We strain at a mole hill, but scamper over the mountain"
It is what it is, i can accept it, i just dont see why it has to be that long.
