Hey congrats! In the end it wasn't soo bad, was it? ;)
thank you so much! it was not at all! I wore out myself worrying over nothing! lol, anyway, was done, thanks a lot for all your help! hope to have you in the citizenship forum!

We are April 2016 applicants and in the end of May 2017 we received a request for additional papers (criminal record check from back home).
And a few days later on June 1, 2017 we received a letter addressed to my husband whom I am sponsoring confirming he is eligible to apply for permanent residence.
Does anyone know what it means?
Do we still need to wait for a Sponsor Approval since we never received it or should we just expect OWP sometime soon 'cause we were waiting for the first stage of approval to get that?
Also about OWP - does it come in mail or another email that we will need to take to Immigration office?
We appreciate any thoughts on that!

I had a very good down to earth representative. Together me and him we did everything by the book and the results were excellent...
my rep was not bad but was mostly me gathering info

Yes refugees get free medicals under ifhp. It is covered by the government. It is not a loan. They do not have to pay it back

OWP comes in the mail.. was he out of status or something?

He has AIP which means he is a member of the family class. Generally that would imply you have SA already. I would check into your email address with them to make sure it's correct.

As to the police certificate, this one is interesting. Did they not already request or have one?

Yeah, originally we mailed everything in February 2016 and my husband still had his status until April 2016, but we missed a signature and they returned everything in the beginning of April, so by the time they received everything back his police certificate wasn't valid anymore given it's valid only for 3 months and he was out of status as well.... this has been really challenging and we had some bad luck as well, but I'm sure we're not the only ones... So OWP is something we've been waiting for a very long time.
Thank you for your reply!

Hello everyone, I finally landed on may 31,2017.Thank you so much for all your help in this forum. You guys have been my strong support system. Special thanks to profiler, who has been so patient answering my queries. It was a long bumpy road but I finally made it to the end. For those who are still waiting, hang in there, you will have your turn very soon.
My timeline:
application received; jan 18,2016
AOR: june 10,2016
SA: March 2,2016
AIP: March 6,2016
Med request : march 2,2016
completed: April 12,2016
Interview: May 31,2016
Landed: May 31,2016

As to the interview, I thought it was going to be tough as the email that I received seemed like it was a relationship interview. But it was not ( I think). All the officer asked was the original copies of the documents we submitted as proof of our relationship, like insurance policies, bank statements etc. Then she asked if I committed a crime and if there is any dependents that I have not declared. That was it. She asked for my passport, and a couple more documents then it was all done.

Again, thanks a lot everyone!

Congrats Cariie!! You must be so happy!!

JUST GOT ASKED FOR THE MEDICAL! PROGRESS! the universe heard me!

I actually came on the forum before even calling a physician HAHA.

Well, to save you some time and cash, you might not want to file for OWP. It will take 4 months to get, and at this point, he may be landing in the next month or two. That would be $255 that would never get used...

@profiler: Got an interesting question for you. Looking at the spreadsheet, when you look at June 16th until June 23rd, do you think it validates the splitting up application from Mid June theory?

It looks like there is movement in/around June 14 2016. So, my guess is, that is how they plan to drop the processing times for the later half of 2016. They would continue to process the ones before June 14 at the same rate. But I would hazard a guess to say that I think it explains the chaos WRT people announcing SA's, AIP's and DM's from later in 2016...

Congrats on AIP Sanoma! . We also got AIP then we got SA. I think it was because we ticked the box when it said "do you want to proceed with application even if SA is not approved" not sure but perhaps.

Hope this week is a sweet week for all of us.

Hopefully they can clear up the the remaining 2015 and first half of 2016 really fast.

Nyet. At least I don't think so. AIP is where they are assessing the PA's membership in the Family Class. So, my guess here is that it's probably just inundated mail queues that cannot handle the processing speed currently happening at IRCC.

There was a CBC story about Bell Canada not honouring a transfer of email systems from old to new (.canada.ca's). They failed to live up to a contract, and now Shared Services Canada (SSC) has to try to move these antiquated systems into the 21's century...

Most importantly -- We need your DM.
