Thanks @profiler. You're right, the medicals slowed things Dow. Looks like they were ready to make a decision and the only thing that was stopping them was the medical. I was very lucky tho, I managed to get a medical done two days after the request from cic. And cic made a decision exactly one week after receiving them.
I'm in Toronto, so landing in Etobicoke. I wish I was in Kitchener! Lol
Noo, you don't want to land in the sticks!

Sounds like we are in exactly the same state. So, good to know it was DM a week later. Applying that logic, puts the DM around April 18 for the missus (April 12 for Meds + 1 day for the results to be sent back + 7 days review). That's like dead on the math. How the hell did that happen???

Lol give it two weeks @profiler. Two weeks after the meds are done. Did meds on March 10th. Doctor sent them to cic on March 17th. DM on March 24th. I think it takes about 5 business days for the physician to submit meds results. I predict April 26th for Mrs. Profiler.

In the spreadsheet I had April 22 or 24. BUT, Kitchener submits emeds within a day. The doc emails you the results too. It's how we knew :).

That's not fair . Y'all in Kitchener seem to have it all!
Lol, I wouldn't be surprised if your missus lands at the same time as me or before.

She'd prefer to live in the big smoke. She's from Moscow, right? So to her, she likes big cities. Her first trip through the Financial District had her freaking out. She couldn't talk for a good half hour. Then said Toronto makes Moscow look like an 18th century village. So, for her, she'd love to live there (well, she says so, but when you tell her she'd lose our house to move there -- she reneg's).

Kitchener only has one Immigration doc. There is 3 in the office, but only one office. So getting an appointment this time around sucked. Earlist they had was April 12th. But the lab and the diagnostic imaging offices are in the same building, you just go from one to the other. You're done in an hour. Next day you get an email saying you passed, here is a copy of what was submitted to immigration.

That said, Kitchener has GuyanaGirl, and I am pretty sure ZumbaGirl is also from KW....

If somehow she lands on the same day, that's only a stroke of pure luck...

And also 1 more question, do you suggest we should talk to the MP beforehand to check the status of the file and tell him that we might be needing his help in case any issue arises in the file ,(hopefully which shouldn't be happening) or should we just wait for the CIC's email.
I am too excited that the files are getting processed so fast and nervous at the same time.!!

No. There needs to be a problem that you need help with. At this point, I think you're fine....

Hello Everyone,

I am a May 06 2016 applicant, and just received today a letter requesting a valid photocopy of my passport. I have a few questions about this, and would appreciate your help.

1. My passport is valid until Oct 2017. Is this a problem, as it in will it interfere with a positive decision on my case? Should I get a new passport before submitting anything?
2. When they ask for a valid photocopy, does this mean notarized, or can it be just a simple copy?
3. How can I submit this? I've heard you talk about case specific inquiry, but I'm not sure what it means.
4. Is this good news? Is AIP near?

Thank you for your help, your support means a lot

Did you photocopy the bio page? Was there any instructions with the letter on how to photocopy that? You need to have a valid passport that is valid 6 months when you visit right? Perhaps that's why they have asked?

2. When they ask for a valid photocopy, does this mean notarized, or can it be just a simple copy?
Simple copy. If they asked for certified or notarized, then it's time to find a notary.

3. How can I submit this? I've heard you talk about case specific inquiry, but I'm not sure what it means.
If they didn't tell you how to submit it, I would submit via Case specific Enquiry: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx . Always follow the method they requested you to follow. If not, CSE.

4. Is this good news? Is AIP near?
It means they have looked at your file. That is always good news...

Hi Profiler,

Thanks for replying. This is what it says:

In order to continue processing your application, further information is required. You must
complete/submit the following to this office:
> Passport/Travel Document: Valid copy of passport or travel document. All persons
seeking permanent resident status in Canada must provide a valid passport or travel document issued
by the Country of Citizenship in order to become a permanent resident. Please submit a photocopy of
your valid passport or travel document to this office.

I've noticed they ask to submit it by CSE. I'll apply for a new passport, and am considering to either submit a photocopy of the current one and a letter explaining that the new one is on the way, or if the new one comes quickly I'll just send a photocopy of both (it should take about 10 work days). Any advice on which approach to choose?

Thanks

I would:
Photocopy the old one, and apply for a new one. Photocopy the copy of the request and acknowledgement that you will get the new one. Explain that you've applied for a replacement, here is the old one, and you will update CIC when you have the new one available for copy.

Then you can pass that to them when you get it.

That letter means they are looking at your file. You have not passed AIP yet.

There shouldn't be from this point. AIP means the PA has met the eligibility requirements to apply. It's literally a final assessment of all the information, to make a decision now. They may request an interview, but it's rare.
