So I just landed this morning!
Just the regular questions, and done in 5 minutes.
My appointment was rescheduled from July 27 to Aug 11 with no problem.
Wish everyone good luck on this lengthy journey!
Congratulations! Now it's party time for you!

Thanks @profiler. So does it mean that they completed the sponsorship approval, Approved in principle and Decision made on the same day. Now the only pending is to receive an appointment for landing interview. Any idea how long will it take to get an appointment in Ottawa local office. What is the next step after completing an appointment? Will they stamp in my passport on the same day? Do I need to go to the border and come back or it can be skipped? If the border landing is not required, then when will I receive my PR card? Please do reply.
Border runs are not only not required -- it's recommended that you don't try it until after you get your PR Card. Once you land, you no longer have any visas. It's not legal for a Permanent Resident or a Citizen to have a "visa" (they are not required after all, right?). So until you get a PR Card, leaving Canada can be problematic getting back in. The exceptions would be visa-exempt passports (like USA), as no visa is required to enter.

Yes, I told you Wednesday night that is what would happen -- didn't i? ;). Everything is all done. Just the landing, and waiting for a PR Card. remember to get a passport-sized photo (2) for your landing. There is no stamp. It's only a paper they give you.

l'Ottawa I hear is about 2-3 weeks from DM in ECAS -- at least that's what I last heard. PR Cards are taking about 61 days presently(?). You can check that processing time here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/information/times/index.asp

Wow.. I think I'm worked up because I really thought it would fly after the medical and we could've went to see my family in Christmas but It doesn't look like I'll be landing before october
We had med request in December 7th, 2016 and it was done on 21st if my memory is correct, so 3 months before DM. But I don't think it means anything, it's just that they ask medical to be done a bit before they expect security checks should be completed. The fact they asked you to do medical exam is a positive sign that they expect to finalize soon your application.

Hi,

Anyone, can you please explain what does the below information meant? I received the below message in my CIC account. I don't know whether this is an interview request or an appointment for PR landing. @profiler : Do you have any idea?

""We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre in **** IRCC will contact you to arrange an appointment for the finalization of your permanent resident application. IMPORTANT: You and your family members, if any, will be required to present original identification document(s) to the Canada Immigration Centre at your appointment. A final decision concerning the granting of permanent residence status will be made at that time. If permanent residence is granted, the name that will appear on the confirmation of permanent resident document is your name as it appears on your passport or identity documents.

Passport / Travel Document The passport / travel document that we have on record for you bears the number *****.  If you are in possession of this passport / travel document, you must bring it with you to your appointment at the Canada Immigration Centre.  If this passport / travel document was seized by CBSA, it will be sent to the Canada Immigration Centre directly and will be returned to you at your appointment. Do not contact CBSA to retrieve it as it will not be released to you until your appointment at the Canada Immigration Centre.  If you are in possession of a new passport / travel document, you must contact this office immediately. ""
Congratulations on your DM letter! You're done!!! It's just a matter of few weeks before you have your appointment and officially become a permanent resident!

Much appreciated @profiler .. All I knew from my friends is that we need to cross the US border and finish the landing and they will give a letter. After that we need to wait for a PR card. Now I can understand from your words, I just need to wait for an appointment and on the same day I will become PR and no longer US border landing is required. After finishing my appointment I need to wait for my PR card .. ;)

The border run is for people who are inside Canada, but applied outland. You applied inland.

They did stamp my wife's passport and wrote the CoPR number, but they clearly said it's just a souvenir for you, it doesn't have any legal value.

Happy Friday everyone! I have a question, my husband's police clearance will expire soon and we still haven't heard anything from CIC. Do we have to send a new one or should we just wait for CIC to ask for it? Thanks!

If he is still in Canada, there is no real expiry once CIC has it. If you return to the country who issued it before processing is complete, they might ask for a new one -- but not if you haven't returned since filing.

I forgot you got your DM on June 14.... Ya I'd be contacting the MP, as they are supposed to issue a landing letter by 8 weeks maximum.

Oh!.. They stamped in passport? Is COPR is the letter that everyone will get after landing as Profiler mentioned?.. What is the process you underwent during an appointment?
