hey people , I am sending the PCC second time as requested by CIC . I also want to send 2015 Notice of assessment . Can i keep them in same application ?
I did a CSE with multiple documents and it didn't seem to be a problem. The PCC request is pretty specific though so if you are sending a paper copy I would recommend to send the PCC on its own an then send the Notice of Assessment electronically via CSE. They don't need a paper copy of the NOA. Better not to confuse them.

Has anyone on this thread tried to keep working on implied status while they wait for their new work permit to be processed?

The reason I ask is because I have been in Canada now for almost 4 years on two working holiday visas (open work permits). While these visas are valid I have a valid Social Insurance Number. This number expires however the same day that the visa expires.

I wonder what would happen with Canada Revenue Agency and your employer if you continue to work under "implied status" while you wait for your new work permit if your Social Insurance Number is expired....

I would assume that this would effect both parties?

Has anyone had this experience and knows what happens under these circumstances?

My timeline;
application received April 21, AOR1 May 26, AOR2 29 June, OWP August 9.
What is normally the next step? Request for medical? I am extremely happy about got OWP because I sent my application without marriage certificate  I sent it in May by mail and looks like it made there.

Im about to submit my new Open Work Permit and was just wondering if someone could help.

In question 3 its asks"

Am i applying for one or more of the following:

*A work permit with same employer
*Restoration of status as worker
*An initial work permit or work permit with a new employer
*Temporary Resident Permit

I only need to choose option 3 "An initial work permit or work permit with a new employer" for the Open Work Permit right??

I was going to put temporary resident too but i dont need that if i only need the only work permit right?

Option 3...when you get the OWP it also confers the right of temporary residency..so an additional TRV is not required.

I did work on implied status on my employer-specific work permit 2 years ago, it was no problem, the Canadian government still took their money. I would say the only time you would have serious issues would be in a new tax year from the one that the SIN expired in...even then if Canadian Revenue question it, if you explain you are on implied status (and send proof of the same), they should allow you to continue working on that SIN, even if they cannot extend it as they have no date when you will be in status again. Obviously do not change employers until you have a valid permit (even if you really hate the job). In my case I also, to re-assure my employer that he was legal, gave him copies of my application to extend to put in my file, so he knew his ass was covered, once I did that, everything carried on like normal.

Thanks Canad1anAl1an for both answers!!!!

I still have until April next year before my current visa runs out but just in case. Hopefully they continue with the pilot program for the Open Work Permit because by the time mine arrives to them the 4 months of processing will be just past their December 22, 2016 cut off date!

Or even better and complete wishful thinking for myself and everyone else here we get our PR before then and I wont have to worry about my visa expiring!

Your totally safe, goes on date of application, not date of issue, you applied before dec 22nd this year, so you are entitled if they did discontinue it.

Working on applications received on May 9, 2016 thats 2 days away from me :)
I would not base your timeline on what the website shows. I rang CIC and they said spousal sponsorship applications that have an OWP do not relate to those dates on the website at all. OWP with a spousal sponsorship is 4 months waiting time max, some receive it maybe 1 month sooner, some a couple of weeks before and some bang on the 4 month mark. The good news is that if they go beyond 4 months they (should) instantly process your OWP if it has not been done already

Hi Everyone,

First of all I wanted to say how much my husband and I love this forum. This is a great resource for us and makes a big difference to our mental health knowing that there are other people alongside with us going through the same thing.

I wanted to ask a quick question. We applied for my husband to obtain his PR and OWP on May 16, and we have received the same letters and updates on ecas and myCIC as everyone else in our time bracket. We recently noticed that a couple of May applicants have received their OWP (?). Should we expect to receive the OWP sometime before the month ends? I've called into the helpline today and they told me the same thing they've been saying all along, wait until September 16. They keep saying that there is no shorter wait time, standard 4 months.

Does anybody have a rough estimate for this time frame? Should we continue nervously checking our accounts, or say to ourselves nope not until September 16.

im in the same boat as you and really needing this work permit! i know it's going to be anytime soon but im even starting to get desperate thinking do they say 4 months meaning 4 sets of 4 weeks or literally the same date 4 months later eg i applied 11th may so will be cut-ff be 11th September or will it be 16 weeks after 11th may?

Im on May 16 as well. I have to wait until September 16 max. But i have to check by September 3rd for 110 days and September 13 for 120 days. Best thing to do is wait until reached 4 months for our OWP!

I realize certain reports of Work Permits being authorized have thrown the timings out a bit..but in general, 110 days has been around when the vast majority of posters have seen their permits. I personally expect mine to come around the 21st of Sept...and am not getting excited in anyway prior to this date.

Thanks Everyone!

We will continue to anxiously wait for September. Although I doubt I can stop checking the accounts and timeline spreadsheet everyday! :)
