Spousal sponsor + Open Work Permit application submited.

I just discovered this forum and after reading through some of these posts I'm feeling a little worried.

I am a Canadian Born husband who married my wife back in September 2017. She came from India on basis of study back in 2013, then she got post grad work permit in 2015 and her current work permit expires in April 16 2018.

I submitted the Sponsorship PR application + the Open Work Permit application, it was received by CIC mailroom yesterday.

My question is when does the open work permit usually come through? Can my wife be able to continue to keep her full time job after her current WP expires in April as 'implied' status?

1. 3ish months-average, not garaunteed

2. Not 100% sure, I know if you extend a WP before it expires, you can work while waiting for a decision. Someone else should chime in for this

3-4 months processing on the OWP but could be more, could be less.

What kind of work permit is she on currently?

Post Graduate work permit was extended in october 2016.
