Hello all,
We just found out that my wife is not eligible for a post-grad work permit and her current study permit is expiring May 26 2022

We previously (at the end of October 2021) submitted an inland spouse sponsorship application but it got returned and we had several mistakes so are correcting mistakes at the moment.
Now my spouse's study permit is expiring end of May 2022 I am thinking to include an open work permit for her in our inland spousal application form.

Can someone help me with which form should I fill out for the open work permit? and is she eligible to get an open work permit at all?

Also, I am wondering if her study permit expires end of May will the open work permit arrive before that date or it will be effective on that date (end of May)?

Appreciate your answeres

I do not know what are the forms to be included for OWP. BUT you will get implied status as visitor once you submitted a completed OWP with the inland application (NO error and not returned). Most recommand to extend her stay before her current status expires.

Since she is NOT on worker permit for now, implied status won't allow her to work. Her study permit actually is only valid 90 days after she completed her study. So make sure that she has a valid status when the new application is submitted.

Recent OWP with inland applications have been taking a long time. Some actually didn't get OWP when their inland application is approved.

IRCC has no responsibilty to approve the open work permit according to her study permit expiry date.

my spouse's study permit is expiring end of May 2022 and we will re-send the new inland spouse sponsorship application with OWP within 4-5 days I know they might look into the documents and send us the first AOR 30-35 days later.

So I guess she is still studying and hasn't graduated yet. (otherwise, her valid status depends on her study complete date, not on the study permit expiry date)

she completed her studies effective today. but her study permit is expiring end of May 2022

so in the application form, do we need to mention her last date of study or last date of study permit expiring?
