Spousal permanent resident application - Can family find out?

I'm looking to apply for an outland spousal PR application, and this situation might be a bit a sensitive for some family members. I'm wondering if this is kept confidential between the principal applicant and the spouse, or does the CIC have to contact family or require any information from them?

I've never heard of a situation where CIC contacts family. I think you should be fine.

I also have never heard cic contacting anyone besides the sponsor or applicant
the process is very private.

FROM them no, but they require information about your parents and siblings. But you can easily get that from common knowledge (Their names, birthdates and addresses)

Otherwise they don't contact family.

ok thanks everyone. yes i noticed they do require information about parents and siblings, i was just wondering if they would need to speak to them or require signatures. but apparently not. thanks again for the help.
