I am on the same boat like others. For us, it's been more than a month now and still waiting...
I would also appreciate if someone who recently got their passport back with visa share with us all how long it took from the time the passport was mailed to ISB visa office. Thanks!

My timeline is the same as yours, still waiting as well for my husband to get his passport back...

Yes you can. If ur flying from Emirates airlines you can go to their site and apply for his visa (transit or tourist) online. Make sure u provide a copy of his Canadian visa so that they know he's allowed to proceed to Canada from the UAE.

thank you! I did fly from emirates last time I visited Pakistan but they stay was 3 hrs only. so im thinking to get one way ticket when I am visiting my husband next time and when he gets his visa we can book our flight together on emirates. but are we doing 2 separate flights or will it be connected? I mean from Lahore to Dubai and then get tourist stay for the time we want to stay and then book again to Toronto?

Yes I m waiting for my pp , they dint ask for attested documents . I want to know about it as I want to continue my studies in Canada too. That's y m asking . If anybody know the answer plz guide .

hey...so when you come to Canada you have to apply to whichever university or college you want to enroll in or which program. every institute has academic requirements such as English language test (tofel) test...if you want to continue same program as you did in Pakistan for example they will assess by looking at your certificate and might give you some credits if they feel they meet the requirement. but you still have to complete yr or 2 depending on ur program. there is also national accredation committee that converts credits but I believe that is only for law program....but don't worry once you come here and visit a university admission office they will help you :)
feel free to ask any question:) I am also studying here in Toronto at a university

Anyone who has gotten a medical done recently can you please state if a Polio Certificate was required?

My husband was told to bring one, i'm not sure if it's just X-ray being done if to bring the certificate. When my husband went they asked him for it and he gave a copy of it.

When you apply for equalization of your education from Pakistan you need the education board in Pakistan to authenticate the degrees/diplomas/certificates or to notarize them. I asked all of this because inshaAllah soon my husband will come and I wanted to know what we will have to do to equalize his degrees. So, I was told they have to be attested and deemed official by the educational board there. Plus, when you apply for equalization here depending on which institution your degree is from they may require additional information etc which they will notify you. Plus, you submit originals to them which they return later. Hope that helps and it's the answer to your question.

I'm not sure about a spreadsheet Farisha. But a suggestion is to order notes it will give you a better picture of where your file is at.

What do you mean by order notes? and do you have any idea why they have not asked for my husband's medical yet as we did not submit it with our application.

When did you submit application Farisha?

Because when I applied for husband in Sept 2012 we forgot to include medical (actually were under the assumption that it has to be submitted upon request. And Ottawa requested in Nov 2012 and we submitted within that month.

Princess123 Admission requirement are different from program to program, well all universities ask for your transcript send to them through university directly. For instance I did my engineering from Karachi, they accepted my degree but asked me to get the sealed transcript from the university (there are 2 options to get the sealed transcript, you have to make a request to you pakistani university they will issue you a transcript sealed in an envelope and you can thn submit whenn required for admission in Canada ... 2nd option is you can provide your university in pakistan with the address of the university you want the transcript to be delivered and they can send it there) you also need to get 2 or 3 academic references...

Above all, everything is dependent on the program you want to go for whether its an under graduate program or masters program.... one thing everyone should know they do not accept 2 yrs degree in canada you need to have 4 yrs degree to pursue masters in Canada....
