Hello All,

I am doing research on reasons why people do or do not use lawyers for their immigration applications.

Would appreciate if you could fill this in. It will take 2 minutes of your time.

Thanks in advance!!

Good question mrashid. This is for an MBA class I am taking and the data collected data will be used purely for academic purposes. As sidkhan pointed out, income is an important factor that can affect a persons decision to hire a lawyer or not.

For those of you who have a couple of minutes, please fill in my survey. Thank you!!

Not necessarily.... I could afford a lawyer but decided not to go with one because I didn't see any value that a lawyer would add for my case.... My case was a straightforward case with no complications so I didn't need a lawyer.... Many of our ppl think a lawyer will get things done quicker cuz they think he's got connections similar to back home but it doesn't work like that in canada... There are a lot of cases that were screwed up by lawyers n ended in cases being rejected.... I think as long as u can follow instructions u can put the whole thing together yourself since everything is explained well online.... N forums like this are a big help.... B sure to consider this for your project as well not just the income factor.... CIC explicitly states on it's website that u don't need to hire anyone to prepare ur file....a lot of our ppl don't realize this

I agree with you a 100%. I didn't hire a Lawyer because I don't trust them. I trust myself compared to them.

To me as long you know English and are detail oriented person then you should not hire a lawyer.

Our file is also transferred to London Office. Do you know how long it takes them to process the application after the file is sent?

File transferred from Islamabad to London: January 2014

I will continue to pray for everyone that InshaAllah their applications get processed quickly and they are re-united soon with their loved ones!

you will get ppr1/ppr2 after remed

PPR as in passport request? Do you know usually how long is the average wait time after medical is sent? Also, why do you say PPR1/PPR2? What's the difference? Sorry new to the forum and not familiar with the terminology.
