Your status won't change till a VO actually opens/reviews your file which would be months after it is received. Though, once it changes to In Process, things move on pretty fast from there.

When was your original application received in Mississauga and when was it transferred to Islamabad before they re reouted it to London?

Mine never went to Islamabad. I filed in mid October and then first got the receipt notification via email in November meaning that it has been received in Mississauga and then an email in January that it is in London.

I never got any letter or email saying that it went to Islamabad.

I got the transfer email on 24th oct, so I don't count October in.

For the notes, I think I wud wait another 3 months before I expect to hear something from CIC. I have been following the London thread very closely. And all the NON-visa exempt cases are processed slower than the regular cases

I might panic after crossing 7th or 8th month, no earlier than that. Becoz even if our files are PROCESSED in LVO, the background checks will still be done in Pakistan and that's what takes about 4- 5 months extra.

In the London thread there's a guy JIM, he's a retired visa officer, and according to him the factor that contribute in adding a few extra months to our processing is security and criminality checks.

Mine is wife case and im an Afghan and my wife lives in Afghanistan.... so they first sent my file to Islamabad inSeptemberr 2013 and in end of Januaary 2014 they email me back that my file is transferred to New Delhi...

I suggest that all members on this discussion should update their timelines.....so that we have an idea that applicants from only 2013 are transferred or is there someone from 2011 or 2012 as well.

Some of the members are maintaining a spreadsheet (http://tinyurl.com/cs59s8d) with detailed timelines; this can give u an overview of how London Visa Office works. But guys don’t compare our cases to the regular London cases, ours is a lot different scenario. We are non-visa exempt cases with background checks causing major delays in our applications.

Most of the applicants in London thread are already in Canada having temp work permits. Also there are ppl from other countries having student/work visa for London and thus having their cases processed in London. So part of their background checks are from their homelands and part from London. Normally these cases take a bit longer. In London thread, I have seen cases been finalized in 45 days.

From what I observed, LVO asks for additional docs in 4-5 months, or u get ur status changed to “in process” by 6-7 months. But then we are a lot different cases.

I agree with Terry Khan, lets update our timelines on our profiles. Will help others alot

Hi guys im new to this forum,

here is my time line (sponsoring hubby)

- sent file to Mississauga September 10 --notified they received the file via email within a week
- on September 25 received a letter saying file has been transferred to ISM
- in October they updated online file and said they received hubbys medical results
- On january 23 received a letter saying file has now been transferred to London
- ,,,,,,waiting for the next update

looks like were all in the same boat

I am in Canada, i applied for PR application in Vegreville Canada, June 14th 2013. My PR application 1 stage has been approved on Nov. 13, 2013. CIC send me a letter that your file is transfer to Islamabad Pak . My wife + 3 kids submitted her family visa application in Canadian H/C Islamabad on 6th Dec. 2013 . But still we have no response from Canadian H/C Islamabad. I don't know our file process will done in Islamabad or any other place like London or India. If anyone have same time line and his/her file has been transfer to Islamabad pak and after that move and other place then please share us . Thanks in advance.

If you haven't received a letter saying its being processed in London then your is being processed in Islamabad. People who have their files in London all received a letter indicating such.

Please, refer to the timelines of other members in the 2013 Islamabad thread to get a better idea of where you stand.

My file is also transferred to London now... hope this is for the best, It says 10 months... i wonder if its same time for Pakistani applications as well ? I hope it is

1. Application Filed 6th Dec 2013
2 AOR Received – 4th Jan 2014
3. File transferred to London -31st Jan 2014
