Hi!

All those spousal immigration applicants from Pakistan who's files have been transferred to CHC London due to operational reasons, lets connect here?

This is a unique situation and seems like our procedure will be different from others so we need to be in touch to guide each other. Please share your timelines?

My file is also transfered to london, what does that means , before it was sent Islamabad. Does anyone has any idea what it means???

My file was received on september 24,2013 . Was sent to islamabad on 10 october 2013, know on jan 2014 it is sent to London . How kong will it take from london? Should I expect something soon.

I am glad that its not just me, mine was sent to isb on 8 oct and then sent to london on 24 oct. Mine is a husband case

Hi all
My file is transferred to London office too. Any person who had an experience regarding that do let us know what will happen next and timeline.

Thanks

I think now Islamabad process applications of Afghans applicants only.

Dear guys .Asslamo laikum.
All those persons whose file has been transfer Isb to London , it is a good sign. now there cases will completed immediately compare of Isb.
Maybe within 6 to 8 months, inshallah.
Best of luck.
naveedpcs.

Is your file is sent to london too??

This is good news for Pakistani spouses of Canadian sponsors, if cases get distributed to London or Paris, as those are fully-staffed embassies which can work faster. CHC Islamabad is too damn slow/inefficient in most ways. People having upto 3 medicals expiring and no visas still.

Seems CHC Islamabad with local staff will just be stamping passports only in the future, lol

Anyone that gets their file transferred and not "stuck" in Isbd should consider themselves lucky

But hopefully the timeline would improve also for those still stuck with Isbd office

I hope n pray this is a good sign for all affected inshallah.... I'm anticipating processing times to decrease this year since over the past year they were severely affected by the strike....

I was just wondering how they plan on doing background checks n all if they're gonna b sitting all the way in london or paris?.... it seems as if there would b a lot of back n forth.... most records n such aren't even automated in Pak so its not like they could even access that info from london or paris remotely....

one thing is clear tho.... as if the CIC's actions weren't mysterious enough they just took it to the next level!

Based on my understanding of the information/process the files that are being transferred are only being dealt with partially in London etc. The reason is that unfortunately what takes long in Pakistan is not the fact that there are too many application and not enough staff, for example in 2012 Islamabad received only 1311 spousal sponsorship applications while New Delhi in that same period received 5,388 spousal apps, Hong Kong 2535, Manila 3894...What is time consuming in Pakistan is verifying identities of the applicants, checking security and doing the background searches. So even if London does some of the processing, they cannot access any data from Pakistan, and in the end the identity/background search still has to be done (which based on timelines and capis notes approx 1.5 to 2 years in Pakistan)

So in the end it is not CIC Canada that is to be blamed for the long processing, it is an internal problem in Pakistan (lack of records, lack of registrations of vital statistics within the Pakistani government).

Thank you all for your replies.

We got a letter from CIC on 17th October stating that the file was transferred for further processing to Islamabad. Then, on the 24th of October 2013, we got a letter stating that the file had been transferred to London instead.. They also stated in the letter that all future correspondence regarding the case will be with the London VO. I did some research and it seems that files can be transferred to different visa offices either by request or by the will of CIC.

Since the visa office has now changed from Islamabad to London, shouldn't the London processing times apply to us? Also, I also read somewhere that a transferred file has to be treated with the same regard as any other file in that VO.

My file was recieved at CPC-M on the 1st of October 2013, transferred to London on the 24th of October. The application status on ECAS still says APPLICATION RECEIVED. Has anyone seen their status change yet?

Dear All,
I need ur help. My Wife sponsored me at Aug 2013 and at Sep 2013 we received regarding approval eligibility and also they informed me that my file is transferred to CHC Islamabad Office, But at 22 January 2014 Ottawa office again emailed us and asked following words specifically....

"This notice replaces previous communications received detailing the routing the Application for
Permanent Residence for your relative(s).
The Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to this office as part
of an effort to improve service. All efforts will be made to process applications equitably, but it may be
several months before your application is reviewed for further processing. Your family member(s) will
be contacted by the visa office when the application is ready for processing.
This visa office was selected based on your relative’s home address and the requirements of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
If you received this communication via email, please note that another copy will not be mailed to you. "

Means they ignored the last letter and asking now send further updates at London Office what is this all?? I am toatally confused will it improve timeline as london step 2 is just 10 months or it is just a lollipop once again to keep us busy ??? Please advice???

It seems that a lot of applications are being transferred to the London VO. To me it seems like a good sign. Atleast, they are doing something to improve the processing times. Serveral months is better than than the 9-12 months that Islamabad takes to review the file. If the file has been transferred to London, London processing times should apply. Even if they take 5 - 7 additional months to process the application it is still better than the brutal 32 months that Islamabad takes.

For all those people who have their files transferred to London, have you ordered notes yet to see whats going on? Or if there has been any progress?

I am just skeptic if London is going to go with their usual 10 months timelines with our files or will they subject these files to a longer timeline? I am hoping its the first case!

All people with their files in London should share their timelines here, that would be of immense help to everyone!
