Under what category did your boyfriend apply to become a permanent resident?
If you were mentioned on his forms, and/or had to fill in some forms yourself, find out from him what forms they were exactly. It sounds like he declared you on his own PR application - as his common-law partner? - which is good.
If he declared you as his common-law partner and is expecting you to immigrate with him, this is possible. But for more info from us you will have to find out what forms he sent in.
If he is immigrating by himself, then once he gets a PR visa and 'lands' in Canada, he can then sponsor you as his common-law partner if: 1. you two have been living together for at least one year, and 2. he declared you as his common-law partner on his PR application.
If you are just boyfriend/girlfriend, and have not been living together, then he cannot add you to his own application for PR, and he will not be able to sponsor you right after he lands. He will be able to sponsor you later if you later get married or live together for one year.
