Hi there,
I got married to my husband he is Canadian, he did sponsorship for me, we got married in April 2012 and we are now in April 2013, so far I was asked to do my medicals in February 2013 which was 9 months after my application for sponsorship was sent in through our counselor.
So I have been reporting to immigration since November of 2012 until now every specific day of the month from my telephone at home.
Last month In March I moved and did not report on the day I was supposed to because I had no phone because Bell services had not came to install my services yet and so I called Immigration the day after and explained the situation and they told me to go to Immigration in person and report from the telephone they have there. So that is what I did. But 1 week before I moved I changed my address through CIC website through email and I got an email from them 5 days later saying my address was updated. So i thought everything was updated and fine.
This month (April) I called in to report from home as I have been doing so since November last year(2012) and I happen to call CBSA(Canada Border Services Agency) right after and I left CBSA a message asking if they would need my new BELL bill with the updated address. They called me back and I explained that I had already changed my address online and that It had been updated but the only thing I was wondering was about the updated address on the bill if they needed the bill for there records or not.
The officer told me that I cannot change my address online I would have to go in person, and I asked him so my address isnt updated then how come i got a confirmation email from CIC saying it was updated? he said because i updated it with CIC and not CBSA, and I was clueless i had no idea that I had two sections to change my address with. So the officer said go in to CBSA in person and change it there.
So today first thing in the morning I went to CBSA in person, I explained that I had already moved but that I had already updated my address with CIC and she says it was wrong because I had to contact them instead, and she updated my address there finally but she said I reported from my home this month without authorization and that last month I had to report at 2D not 2B(which are the immigration sections at 6900 airport road), she made it seem like I committed a crime and I got all nervous.
So basically with this whole change of address situation im nervous my application process is going to be delayed, what do you think? Could they delay it or decline my application.?
How long does it take after you do your medicals?
Let me know your experience.
Thanks
