Hey i applied for PR with family class sponsorship . But the problem is i have a DUI .
My question is does any one get his PR with DUI ? If yes how long it takes ?
Im so worried its been 2 years waiting .. Pls can someone help me .

Are you the sponsor or the applicant? Are you the Canadian applying to sponsor your spouse or are you the spouse who is being sponsored?

How long ago was the DUI and what was your BAC? What was the fine / penalty given to you and when did you complete it or pay it? Was the DUI in Canada or elsewhere?

The fine was 1 year of suspension of my licence and 1000 fine . Yes i complete it and i pay november 2018. Yes the DUI was in canada .

You will be refused and if you are still in Canada, told to leave or even potentially removed. You are criminally inadmissible. You can apply for a record suspension in November 2023 and if you receive it, you could apply for sponsorship. Expect 2024 at the earliest to become a PR, maybe longer.

I removed the decision of deportation .. they transert my application from missisauga to ottawa where i live . I wish that i will get a good answer

You are still inadmissible given your criminal history,

When did you acquire your TRV or ETA to visit Canada?

if it was after your crime, were you honest about your crime?

if not, I suspect that is your next problem.

When were you convicted? The law changed in 2018 making a DUI a serious crime in Canada.

It was summary conviction in Feb 2019 but charged in november 2017

My pr application is in process and received pfl two weeks ago and I already started the process of record suspension because it takes almost a year to get completed. In pfl I have explained everything as I am in Canada from 2016 and it was only one time offence in my life and my pardon application is also in process.
