So I have just started the process to sponsor my new American spouse to move to Canada. I am a PR, so I know the process will be a little different for me, but I have a few questions.
1. The questionnaire asks if I was previously sponsored to come to Canada. I received my PR status when my dad received his under the skilled worked program. Would that make me a dependent child? If so, then what date to I have to provide, the day I got my PR status (which was already asked for beforehand) or the date that my dad's application went out?
2. I've lived in several countries prior to living in Canada. Do I have to provide every single address, or is it enough to provide addresses of countries where I lived since I turned 18?
3. Will I need to provide any sort of police clearance letter for myself as a sponsor?
4. I know we shouldn't leave any fields blank. Do I need to write "N/A" in spaces even if I checked "No" that I've never submitted another application to sponsor someone before?
5. When it asks about my education, do I write down years for every category? (i.e. 9 years of elementary, 4 of high school, 4 of university?)
*I know this isn't relevant to the subject line, but my spouse and I have not had our big wedding ceremony yet and will have only been married a few weeks/months before we submit the application. Will this count against us? We've had a relationship for over 3.5 years now! How can I prove that this is all genuine and in good faith?
**Also unrelated, how can my spouse prove that he has submitted a police clearance request to the FBI?
Thanks for your help!
