OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

We got CoPR in the mail. They do not send CoPR via email, just so everyone knows. You need the printed documents to show at the immigration official when you land and they also send you one of your passport pictures stapled to the form, so it has to be snail mail.

    Electronic Medical

I believe for our case, it appeared online when we got AoR almost 2 months after submitting the application.

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I think congrats are in order here! I'm pretty sure if it was a no, they would have emailed you by now with a reason why and an option to appeal the decision. You won't get an email communications if the decision is yes. He should get CoPR in the mail in no time. My husband, who is very...

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

He hasn't landed yet. His CoPR is valid until July 1, so we're planning for him to move at the end of May/June. He has a lot going on at home in the next few months (new baby niece due in April, little brother graduating from college, and he coaches youth wrestling as a hobby) so he wants to...

    Sponsoring baby brother

I'm pretty sure he would have to legally adopt his brother in order to sponsor him, which is definitely possible though challenging because his mother is still alive.

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Yes, he is in the USA. We applied outland and I guess got very very lucky. I got caught up on reading the posts on this thread and I just wanted to share a bit of my experience for anyone who's been having concerns: - we sent in our FBI forms with the application. I don't know why they'd say...

Spouse CoPR Condition - Urgent help!

My husband called me this morning to tell me he received his CoPR in the mail after only 4 months of waiting! Of course, we are absolutely thrilled. However, he is due to fly in to Canada TONIGHT! (He is American and doesn't need a visa, so he didn't get a visa or passport request, just CoPR)...

    Refund for Extenuating Circumstances?

I never thought I'd be writing this....my parents applied for citizenship in May. They had JUST received word from Mississauga that the application had been received on July 6 and on July 7 my dad passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly (he was only 49...). We were wondering if and HOW we...

Marriage of convenience: do we run the risk?

Yeah, I understand. I'm a little bit of a worrier. I am concerned about not filling the forms correctly - for example, the question 9 of the Sponsor Questionnaire, in which I'm not sure if I need to provide an explanation for yes or no answers, or just no.

Marriage of convenience: do we run the risk?

Thank you!! That's such a relief to hear! I wore an ivory lace shirt and dressy pants, but I had no interest in wearing a dress, haha. I'm honestly at the point where I'm questioning and triple checking every little thing. I don't want to get rejected for a stupid mistake! In fact, there's a...

which Bank is good for new Immigrant

I use RBC as well, even though I do not have a USD account with them, they do have that option, which seems easy and straight forward enough to use. I like that they do not charge fees for newcomers to Canada for the first 6 months - 1 year, and they have promotions for opening new chequing...

Marriage of convenience: do we run the risk?

Thank you! I figured that they wouldn't care too much with him being American through and through (that is, neither he nor anyone in his family for at least 3 generations has ever held any other citizenship) since he stands nothing to gain and is moving only to be with me, but it is incredibly...

Marriage of convenience: do we run the risk?

Hi all - Canadian PR very very close to finalizing application for US citizen spouse. I'm terrified of making any tiny mistake that might jeopardize our application, so i come to you for help and reassurance! My husband and I dated for 3.5 years after a very normal relationship, met in...

    June 2015 - Outland applications

USPS took TEN days to deliver my husband's portion of our application and he used priority mail, so unless I can get everything organized in the next 3 days, we're looking at submitting in July :( Question for you all: Can you go and hand deliver the package to Mississauga instead of...
