What kind of sponsorship are you doing?
If it is a spousal sponsorship, please note that there is no income requirement. Although some lawyers suggest that you should have a job as a sponsor, you can submit a spousal sponsorship application even if you are not working and it will not affect the processing or the final decision.

If it is a parental sponsorship, then yes, you need to show an income. Typically, it is the personal income for the past 3 years and you have to support it with Notice of Assessment, tax return papers, and perhaps bank statements, as well as pay stubs, etc...
If you do not have enough personal income, you are allowed to have your spouse or common-law partner as a co-signer and their income will be added to yours.

Are either of your parents still alive? If so, sponsoring your sister isn't an option unfortunately.

If not, do you have a spouse / common law partner? Any children? Any other relatives in Canada (e.g. uncle, aunt)?

In that case you unfortunately can't sponsor her. She will have to qualify and apply on her own.
