Hello,
I am a little confused with this. I have been told repeatedly that there are no financial requirements for a spousal sponsorship. However, I see on the Sponsorship Evaluation that it asks if I am unemployed and for my net personal income. Why do I need to provide this information if they are not going to take it into consideration?
For the employment question, I put "Unemployed - Student, Supported by Loans". I currently do not have a job, and have not within the last year. Will this affect the application at all? I am not on social assistance, I do receive a government loan, and a bursary from the Ontario Government (its like a scholarship) but as of my understanding, these are not social assistance.
For the net personal income, why would they want this? My net personal income for the past year would be about $1000 total. I am concerned about this question. If they do not take your financial situation into consideration, then why would they ask at all? I have heard that other students have successfully been sponsors, but were they on student loans? Were they working a job during school? Would these things make any difference?
Thanks,
Canuck
