Sponsorship approval sent to old mailing address-help wanted

Hi,

I sponsored my spouse on Feb 04 [ out land application through CPC-M] , and just today the ECAS Status appeared magically showing Decision made.

It gave the following information:

We received your application to sponsor [spouse] on February 4, 2010.

We started processing your application on March 2, 2010.

We sent you a letter on March 2, 2010 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Now, the problem is, ECAS shows two addresses.

On the left is my current home address,which is fine as I specifically mentioned this address in the sponsorship forms. ON the right hand side is the current mailing address,which should have been the same as my home address as I had specifically mentioned this in the sponsorship forms. Unfortunately, it is my very old home address that I never specified anywhere in my sponsorship application.

I want to know how could I fix this situation as I need to know the decision on my application.

Also when I called the Call Center, I was unable to get through to the representative. However, the recorded message informed me that the "application for sponsorship has been forwarded to the visa office located closest to my relative on March 02, 2010"

What is that supposed to mean? Does that mean it has been approved?


I would really appreciate some help in this matter.

i probably won't be a ton of help, but i do know if you change your address online it takes a couple weeks to actually be updated in the system... not sure if there is another (faster) way to update it... i changed mine online without issue other than the 2 week time it took to actually change

if i remember correctly it sounds like you have just been approved to sponsor (which you figured out)... at that point they forward the application to the visa office that you specified (where your spouse lives) that processes the actual application (his/her portion)...

Yes, their sending the Applicant part of the total package on to the local visa office means you have been approved as a sponsor.

TO make sure that visa office knows your current address, I'd keep calling the CIC call centre until you get through (try early in the morning); you need to be sure the visa offcie sends their letter of acknolwedgement to the correct address, of course.

Congrats on making it this far. Now the real waiting begins.

I called the Call Center Agents today, and I finally got through. The guy was v.nice..told me to wait for the letter, and said if it didnt come through in a week, to call them again and they would re-send me the letter. He also updated my address that v.minute and verbally told me the contents of the letter which was APPROVED.
