Sponsorship Application returned back from CIC

Background:

I'm a permanent resident of Canada and I applied for my wife's sponsorship, outside Canada, family class application.

Situation:

I received the application back of on 23rd April 2017.

I received a letter for CIC saying that there were some missing documents that I need to send. They highlighted the documents that I need to provide on the checklist.

What I want to know is:

1. Should I resend the same application with the missing documents, or do I need to create a new application?
2. Do I need to pay the application fee again, if I'm resending the same application?
3. The application that I received back, is it okay to make any modifications to it?

Would really appreciate if someone could help us soon.

Thanks.

Same application but include a quick letter on how it was sent back and now you've made up the missing documents, no, and yes.

Thanks for your response antony_kao!

I have another question:

The checklist which I send to them, they highlighted the below section on page 6 which says;

One (1) document from three (3) of the following sets of options:
• Joint ownership of residential property or joint residential leases or joint rental agreements listing both the sponsor and the principal applicant; (Minimum 1 document).
• Proof of joint utilities accounts (electricity, gas, telephone); (Minimum 1 document)
• Important documents for you and your sponsor showing the same address, such as copies of Government issued identification documents: driver’s licenses, insurance policies, etc.
• Important documents for you and your sponsor showing that you are recognized as each other’s spouse (such as employment or insurance benefits). (Minimum 1 document).
• Documentary evidence of financial support between your sponsor and yourself.
• Other proof that your relationship is recognized by your friends and/or family (e.g. Letters, social media information showing a public relationship, etc)

The thing is my wife is living with me currently in Canada on a visitors visa and we cannot have any joint bank account or copies of Government issued ID as she being a visitor.
I'm not sure what else can I even provide or I don't even know if this question implies to us. The only thing we were able to provide were the letters and social media information showing a public relationship. I want to know what other two documents I can provide.

Thanks in advance!

She can have a joint bank account with you on a visitor's visa. She can be added to your lease. No ID? No problem: https://www.ontario.ca/page/ontario-photo-card - possible on a visitor's visa too, or she can quickly get a G1 license with your address on it, which is the easiest thing to do. Unless you don't live in Ontario, but I'm sure it applies to every province the same way.

Hey AJSM,

Below were two missing documents;

1. Use of representative (In the Generic form my spouse gave my mailing address for all the correspondence and gave her current reseidential address. For that reason they want her to provide the use of representative form as me being the representative.

2. We didn't give any document expect for 1 for the below list.

Hi there :D

Our application Common law outside Canada was returned to my sponsor in Alberta March 30, 2017. They highlighted what documents they need in the checklist, they need my new immigration 2 photos(the one submitted expired) and same thing like yours(common law proofs), it was highlighted 2 of the following 3 groups as evidence of havingly previously cohabited in a common-law relationship for a minimum of 12mos..

• Joint ownership of residential property or joint residential leases or joint rental agreements listing both the sponsor and the principal applicant; (Minimum 1 document). we did submitted 12months house rental receipt photocopies (next submission we will send the original receipts and I have our caretaker made letter stating the rental agreement and testifying that we both stayed together in the rent)

• Proof of joint utilities accounts (electricity, gas, telephone); (Minimum 1 document) (we do not have any bills on our names, it was in the landlord and caretaker's name and it was stated in the rental agreement, though I provided a copy of bills)

• Important documents for you and your sponsor showing the same address, such as copies of Government issued identification documents: driver’s licenses, insurance policies, etc. we provided Philippine joint bank account certificate(regardless of amount), my postal ID, my sponsor ARC or alien residence card in the Philippines, 2 envelopes showing same address with our names

• Important documents for you and your sponsor showing that you are recognized as each other’s spouse (such as employment or insurance benefits). (Minimum 1 document).

• Documentary evidence of financial support between your sponsor and yourself. we have western union receipts

• Other proof that your relationship is recognized by your friends and/or family (e.g. Letters, social media information showing a public relationship, etc) sponsor WILL & testament copy, statutory letters from landlord, caretaker, neighbor, friend

I hope we satisfy the officer because these are all we have for common law proof! Sure we have photos together, his flight itinerary, hotel receipts, gifts to each other etc.... We are preparing to resubmit the application on May. My sponsor paid only the 550$CAD app fee.

Hello,

Im have a similar situation.. I sponsored my wife who is in Canada on a british passport. She does not have any documents showing our address. but we submitted a letter along with our application stating why we are unable to provide the required documents.

My questions is... did you submit a letter with your application explaining the situation? Or did you just leave it blank and the application got returned?

Hello, I applied my husband inland spousal sponsorship who came from Germany on visitor visa for six months, along with OWP application on May 28/ 2019 and receive AOR on June 22/ 2019, But yesterday after almost 4 months we receive OWP forms back in our post saying that proof of payment is missing, so what should I do?
just give the proof of work permit fee?
or do I need to apply for visa extension as well? because his visitor status was only until June 28/2019?
Thanks

If the OWP application has been returned as "incomplete", it's as if you never submitted it.
Therefore, there was never any "implied status" and he probably now has only a few days to apply for restoration of status.
You can't apply for an extension if already out of status.
