long story short - I am divorced from my ex wife and have children. me and my ex- wife got involved in an argument and I pushed her away from me and she called police and I was charged with Assault and the outcome of the charge was that I pled guilty and was conditionally discharged by the court with 1 year probation. Now I am planning to get married.
Will this my background bar me from sponsoring my wife or will it cause problem in the sponsorship?
please help

This may be serious. If you plead guilty to a domestic assault, you may not be able to sponsor a spouse.

what i found on google. convicted is when you are punished like fine, suspended sentence etc
but granting discharge by court is different means no conviction. Any body have encountered this issue.
any feedback

A conditional discharge is a conviction until and unless you completely comply with the conditions. Once you comply, you are discharged. Be aware that RCMP criminal records may take a while to update once you receive a final discharge order from the court.

A conditional discharge will also stay on your criminal record for three years after you comply with all conditions.
