My husband is sponsoring me for PR, and I'm from the U.S. We worked with an immigration lawyer in Ottawa. She had me go to the FBI's website and follow the instructions on their Identity History Summary Check Page (there should be an application form and a check list) I am from Michigan, and requested these police checks while I was still there. So I got my fingerprints done at my city police station, and then sent those in to the FBI. It says the current processing time is 13-15 weeks...It took about 12 weeks to get my letter from the FBI, and I requested it back in April, 2015.

We submitted our FBI around September 23rd and still havent even been BILLED much less have them. It takes ~4months.

did you apply for the sponsorship without the FBI letter ?

Yeah. We submitted our receipt from sending it to the FBI etc. and wrote a note saying we'd send it to Ottawa after SA.

We did the same. We submitted to the FBI around the 15th of Sept. We just got the paperwork we need for CIC back late last week.
