Sponsoring Spouse for PR and how to apply open work permit

Hi All,

I am based in Quebec as a PR and I am planning to apply PR for my spouse who is Outside Canada using Quebec Sponsorship Program.
In normal Federal sponsorship, there is clear information that we can apply for an open work permit as soon as we get AOR. But for Quebec sponsorship, I am unable to find that information.

I want to know if I can apply for open work permit as soon as I get AOR or if I have to wait until I get CSQ?

Open work permit is only possible if both you and your spouse are inside Canada and you sponsor your spouse inland. Not possible with outland sponsorship.

Thanks for your reply. Does that mean that my spouse cannot come to Canada until she gets PR? Can she apply for a visitor visa or any other visa to come to Canada until PR gets approved?

She can certainly come as a visitor to Canada. She just doesn't qualify for an OWP if you sponsored her outland.
