Still waiting, background check is still ongoing. Not sure how long it will take, they renewed my parents' medical for one more year. I got GCMS notes and there is pretty much nothing there that I didn't know.

medicals of the dependent getting expired in October 2017 and they asked us for new medicals of the dependent one month before saying they wont be able to finaize till then. Anyone has any solution for this. How can we get them to extend medicals? Its a lot of hassle for parent to do medicals again

Unfortunately it is the officer's decision, i think you will need to do medical again. Hopefully your file will be processed and finalized soon.

Sponsorship Approval: May 20-2016
File transfer to LVO (Sri Lanka): May 20-2016
PCC, Medical, PR Fee and Supporting Docs Requested: Oct 7-2016
Medical Completed: Oct 26-2016
Medical Furtherance: Nov 3-2016, Feb 2-2017, May 31-2017, Aug 4-2017 and Aug 30-2017
ECAS status changed to Medical Received: Sep 8-2017
ECAS status changed to Decision Made: Sep 19-2017
PPR Letter Received: Sep 22-2017
Passport Submitted: Sep 25-2017
Passport Received: Sep 29-2017
COPR dated Sep 19-2017
Given till Nov 1-2017 to enter Canada. Yikes!!!

This has been a very stressful journey and more to come until my parents are able to find a flight on such short notice and get here.

In hurry or just my bad, posted them through regular mail. Need your expert advise on shall i resend them again through tracking post or regular mail is safe? Much appreciated for your earliest response as due date to send themback is 27th otherwise email has mentioned your PR might be cancelled

After parents land isn't the whole PR process done? Why would they need additional photos? For what? If I were you I would courier them - fastest way possible and can be tracked as well.

Actually, What i understood is Landing process will be completed but then next step is PR card for that, new request will be submitting by landing officer till your PR card is not in your hand. Status will not change to Approved.

I agree but not sure why i sent through regular mail and now getting worried. Anybody is in same boat as me

It is normal, my file was transferred from Ankara to Ottawa as well. The bad part is that Ottawa seems pretty slow these days. It might be because they are waiting to get the new immigration allocation for 2018.

I have just received an email from cic last night a passport request in order to get PR visa. Do you guy know the period of validity of the PR visa? 6 months or 1 year? My parents probably can not come to Canada in the next few months. If they have 6 to 1 year to prepare, that would be great. Thanks.
