Well, she could have easily landed here with PR Visa a month later. Apparently, if you submit your passport to Manila-VFS for visa stamping, it takes only 3 days to get the PP back. Besides, you could save medical insurance money.

Anyway, once she comes here on SV, you may want to update her address in E-Cas. Once you guys get PPR; submit it to Ottawa for visa stamping. Generally, it takes 2 weeks. Once you get it back, you will need to cross border (either with US Visa or Flagpoling) in order to land and become PR. Alternately, you can book an appointment with CIC call centre to land inside Canada which may take some weeks/months.

My status is the same except for the "A background check is needed" it says "Not needed at this time". I am the spouse of the applicant and my son is sponsoring us. Our final medical result was submitted about 2 weeks ago. Usually the Singapore VO is quite fast but they seem to be a little slow this time. Anyway we just have to be patient.

Hello, First time posting here but been following progress on the spreadsheet. I got approved as sponsor for my parents in June 2016 and file transferred to local office (Accra Ghana) but nothing since then. No word from the visa office and no update online. I am getting worried. Any idea what i can do?

As the sponsor took an oath to be financially responsible for their parents to me immigrated under PGP, parents don't require to show any settlement fund. The border officers won't ask for it either.

My parents are landing in Canada on March 7 at the airport. anything specific that we need to prepare for landing? When I did mine, I drove to the border, so I don't really know how the process is when you land at the airport.

Hi everyone.Happy to see how many people landed.
I just received a letter that the application for my mom is approved and the documents are sent to Romania for next step.
My mom is here with me on Supervisa until July.She will stay back home for 2 months coming back Sept.here in Canada.
What do I need to do?How is the communication continue from now on?
Anybody knows anything?No medical or police clearance yet

Medicals requested : 3rd feb. 2017

My question is my father had a bypass surgery a year ago and now if we get the medicals done are there any chances of rejection based on his heart problem . Is their anybody who is in the same situation ?? Please help ....

Don't worry until you have a reason to worry. Your father will be sent for additional tests if required. My father has renal issues and we are concerned that he might fail his medicals. He has been sent for 3 more tests since his initial medical exam in Oct 2016. When they require additional tests they will issue a medical furtherance letter. Also, my father had to get assessed from a panel specialist as well. Bottom line, you cant do anything but simply follow their instructions.

Btw, which visa office is your father's file in?

Did anyone have their file transferred to another LVO without being informed?

My father got a medical furtherance letter from the New Delhi visa office to an email address that we never even provided in the sponsorship application.

The LVO is supposed to be Colombo.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

guys...got the passport request Jan 26 for my mother....

We sent the passport to Ottawa yesterday. Based on history, how long will it take for my mom's passport to be returned with a visa?
