Sponsoring Parents in 2015

Hi everyone, I have a simple question. After meds and police certificate is submitted (in early December), how long does it take to get the landing papers? What happens exactly? Do they ask for my mom's passport? Any advice would help!

HI There,

I have a quick question, my parents received a letter for their medicals and police certificate on Jan 4th however their passports is expiring on Jan 16th. When they went for their medicals today, doctor told them to wait until they receive their new passport. I am worried that they may miss a deadline of Feb 4th to submit medicals.

Appreciate if anybody else faced the same scenario and guide on what our options are?

My parents did their medical in August and I am still waiting for PPR.

That means lots of ppl are waiting since long.
I am little worried after looking at you case, you only have 5 month left before your medical expires.
Lets keep fingers crossed.

Same for us and I emailed them back on October and they replied that they are doing background check and not to keep sending emails and that thy will give us news when they're done.

And in the meantime a large majority of 2016 PGP applicant have already have had passport request, or have landed. 2016 applicant got fast tracked, 2017 will be even faster. As agent are being ordered to take newer applications and file 2015 and older

I submitted a privacy act request on December 9 to get the notes on the file, even haven't received that! They finally acknowledged today that my access to information request is overdue!

Please do share relevant info when you get GCMS notes. I noted in mine that visa officer haven't looked at our file, only pre-screening done by someone who appears to be an assistant or something. Background not even started.

I was wrong. I found both mails from a pile that I missed. Both the cards arrived sometime in December. I actually called CIC Call Centre yesterday and the lady told me that they mailed PRC on Nov 24. If I don't receive it by 6 weeks from this date, then I can re-apply (6 weeks = 3 weeks for CP to deliver + 3 weeks for CP to return back to CIC).

I was hoping to cancel my SV insurance and get some refund, it has an expiry of July 24. I never applied for refund although I was eligible on few occasions. I didn't want to miss this time.

Hi Rossei, I just returned from my home country and my mom's PR card arrived at the beginning of Jan. We are going to Fedex her to PR card, so she can return to Canada on Feb 3rd as plan. I am so glad that the process is done and and completed. I'm sending positive thoughts to everyone who are still waiting for the case.

Wow, this is outrageous! No fair..... (I'm a 2015 PGP applicant, medicals done Aug-Sep 2016 and still waiting for PPR.... )

Please look at 2016 PGP thread, most are already at PPR or have landed....2017 will be even faster

I believe you are correct.
All application prior to 2016 will be filed "for later" as 2016 and 2017 get fast tracked.
Just today more people on the 2016 claim they have gotten PPR

I think same thing happened with applicants from 2014 when they got new application in 2015 & 2016.
