If CIC is following an effective FCFS, I don't think they will be able to process even the 2nd Jan applications. I posted from Thunder Bay on Jan 02, my application reached on Jan 06 PM.

My initial guess was very close. I believed that the forum represents 1% of the total population of applicants for PGP 2015 program. If you notice Cell P1 in "Analysis" sheet, you will see 1.12%. (BTW: I created this entire sheet, I don't know if anyone found this useful.)

Thank you for your reply
Correct me if I'm wrong so Your application reached on what day? Is that jan 02 at 6pm?

Hi Guys,

Please add me to your statistics. I sent my file to sponsor my mother January 2nd but it arrived January 5th in the morning according to Canada Post. I didn't provide any CID and I haven't seen any amount charged in my CC related this process.

Where I can see the spreadsheet where you have the information of all the people who belong to this forum?

Thanks!

Johanna

Added. But you have to be more specific re: your app received TIME by CIC. The spreadsheet is based on recv'd date and time. Here's the link: http://goo.gl/S2SPwf.

Read 'Instructions' sheet first and if you want to add/update any info in future, use 'New Entry' sheet.

Does anyone know or have any idea when CIC could/would start processing Certified Cheques?
Any timelines associated with last year? I'm assuming that since it is like cash for them, they would not be in any rush to process them unlike credit cards. thoughts?

Rossei,

Add Anastasia P (my partner) to the list. Same sent, received, courier info as mine. The current status of credit card being charged against my name is actually hers.
For my record, please put down method of payment as certified cheque. I called two days ago, and I was informed application is complete (however, I called today and they won't look at the file using UCI)

I've done so but not sure if it's right. Who is AnastasiaU then if Anastasia P is your partner? :-\

Let me know if it's correct or not.

Hello,

Does anybody from January 5 here have their cc got charged already or any update on their application? If there's any please post some.
Thank you

Hi ,

I called CIC today and confirmed that application received on 5th Jan,2015 (Fedex says that it was given in the morning 11:00 AM on 5th Jan,2015 and there was long queue to receive the application at CIC).
It was also confirmed from CIC agent that it is a complete application . that is all written in the file.

I don't know what does it mean as he refused to tell anything else and he just me that you need to wait to hear anything from CIC.

Somebody on a Chinese forum who had their application delivered on Jan 5 called cic yesterday morning. She was told that her application was completed. So there is a hope for people whose application was received on Jan5.

That is what i got it from CIC agent when i called today. my application was received on 5th jan 2015 and application is complete.
that's all

Not sure who Anastasia P and Anastasia U are completely separate individuals. Anastasia P is my partner. The info you entered is correct for Anastasia P.

Anastasia U has been on the forum for a while. My partner is not, i'm just providing my partners info for more of a sample size :)

What time was it received? You gave Jan 5 some hopes, thanks for that.

This is the very reason why my parents leave after 6 months of doing nothing. They really want to be with us but staying at home just bored them. They are still very able so they can work part time or volunteer if given the chance. An open work permit is a good idea. Do you know how to petition?

My mom has been staying here on Super Visa for over a year. She attends English, singing and excerise classes at community centre every week and has gathering with her classmates so often. Her schedule is more packed than mine, seriously, haha~ All they asked was just her name, address and phone no. Of course fee is applied, but it's just like $30-50 a season.

I don't know what ethnicity group you're in, or where you live, but I bet there must be some local non-profit association offering senior programs for all. ;D

Can someone give me an idea of whether or not an app on Jan 14th would still fall under the cut off? When they shut it down on January 16th, does that mean applications received before Jan 16th are still under the 5000 cut off?

Just hoping that maybe from last year when they cut it off on Feb 3rd, that people who got their apps in prior to Feb 3rd still made it through. It's wishful thinking.

My 59 yr old mother in law is here on a SuperVisa. She arrived in February and did not complete the documents we asked her to (repeatedly) and as a result we didn't get her app in until January 14th. For those who's parents are here on SuperVisa's, were your parent(s) really on top of making sure that their applications were completed and ready to go before the end of the year?

My mom (59 as well) came to us on Nov 1, 2014 for second time on Super Visa. So, really, she just signed wherever I asked her to do. If she were back home; I would have same difficulties as you had.

Hate to say this...but I personally think application received on Jan 14 get a very slim chance making it into 5000 cap. From what we see now, only application received on Jan 2 (maybe Jan 5) can make it.

As for preparing the application, seriously, I don't quite understand why you didn't fill out the forms with her in the first place, especially when she's here with you.

My mom and I we filled out the application on Jan 1. I sat with her and told her how to enter the info on every question step by step, and making sure all forms are signed and done right. And then I gathered all the docutment needed, made copies, then put the package together myself. It took us only an hour or so to have it done.

Sorry, Jan 06, 12:41 PM. Canada Post Tracking shows just " PM" as delivery time. My application was ready much ahead of time. I hesitated to post the application before Jan 02 because I was afraid that CIC may just reject it based on the date stamp of Dec 31. I was so cautious that when the Canada Post person wrote the date of 01-01-2015 (must have been excited about new year), I teared open the package and paid extra for the new package and clearly wrote 02-01-2015. I don't know if it was over-thinking or under-thinking on my behalf.

Best wishes to all...

Now, applications (from this forum) are being charged less frequently; the hopes are ever decreasing.

CIC agents should be transparent in their approach and atleast provide the number as and when they receive the application if available with the call centre agents. I do not understand the need for secrecy in providing the file numbers, if available. Only reason i understand is that there is complete chaos in there. To prove this fact Its obvious that there is no order in which CC are being charged for apps delievered on Jan 02 by same courier company at different times.

I filled out all the information I had, gave her a list of what I needed from her. 2 months later (and several reminders) she still had not given me the info to update. So I gave her the documents and asked her to fill them out and give them back to me. Several months later (and even more reminders) she still hadn't done it. I suggested to my husband and her that they go see a lawyer. Again, neither of them bothered to set up an appt with a lawyer or complete the application. A month before Christmas I sent them both an email explaining that they needed to get on this and that I was done trying to chase them down for information. 2 weeks before Christmas they finally got the app done and realized they needed to see a lawyer for help. At the lawyer appointment they found out they needed originals of some documents and had to order those, which delayed her getting her app in.

I am not a babysitter or a mother to my mother in law or my husband, so please do not try to make this my fault that they did not get their crap together in time. I am just looking for information on probability of acceptance for the application so I can let them know. Thanks.
