True. Except I made sure it was a certified cheque. the bank teller didn't know what to do at first, because they are used to giving out Bank Drafts. She had to get her manager to do it. So i'm confident that its fine. they've already debited the $$ from my account. as a safety net I added an additional Fee Payment Form with my CC info and asked them o use it in case of any problems with the certified cheque :)
Hope it works! Best wishes.

haha, them you must be 24XX as well. Then don't worry, you are in 5000
khe01, you may have already mentioned in a previous post, but was your CC charged? And did you use purolator or UPS?

At least your agent told you that yours is complete... Mine simply told me they don't have any information about this. That's it.

Also called CIC and the agent said it has been received and no more info. I asked him when I can expect to receive the application number he said it will be a month or so. Not sure if it is reliable but he did mention that by now if you have not hear or had any return it is a good sign your application has been accept as part of the 5000 cap. Again my application was received Jan 5th early morning.
This is quite encouraging news...since my app was received minutes before yours!
But last year I didn't know my application was NOT accepted until I received it back in the mail in April, so if I understand correctly, they are now returning applications immediately? PLEASE CONFIRM

Hi Guy,

CIC has just announced that the cap of 5000 applications has been reached. Check it on their web. It's officially.

no. As Xenon indicated, your UCI number is supposed to be entered in form 1334. not in the Generic Application form.
Well ... I missed it everywhere (even in form 1334), I thought this was supposed to be provided once CIC opens the file for sponsoring parents, didn't know I had to put my UCI#.

I guess it IS considered an error, right?

Thanks again!

Probably. Hard to say though, I guess. It shouldn't be a problem for them to track this down. They have a copy of your PR/Passport. It should be easy for them to ID this from your records.

Grey area, I think. Wouldn't say its an outright error. Totally depends on the officer.

I dont think UCI number is mandatory. What if you dont have it, or dont remember it, or cannot find any letter with UCI as 10-20 years had passed.

Thank you! Maybe I will call and will ask the question, hopefully they will give me a straight answer.

That's what I thought too. Considering that the form was validated and no flags were raised (UCI# missing, etc).

Anyhow I will let all know if I hear from an agent about this topic (I know someone else in this forum made the same mistake and might need to know what the answer is ... at least we stop checking our CC limit every 10 mins :)).

Thank you All!

Well....
If you are a permanent resident or a naturalized Canadian citizen (i.e., you came to Canada as a permanent resident and were later granted Canadian citizenship), provide:

The date on which you obtained this status (whichever is more recent)
Your UCI (Unique Client Identifier)/Client ID number)

So now Im not sure it would be mistake or not...
