When i submitted my application in Fedex Vancouver, the rep told me she has got so many more mails to go to Mississauga that day (was working on 4 in front of me). I assume all of them were for Parents sponsorship. When you think about the number of couriers and people in line today, i think the 5000 cap will be filled today or Monday.

I mailed mine from Calgary on Dec 31 and was told by Purolator that they had already received 50ish packages for CIC earlier that day… :o

I hope what you say is right. The Purolator lady ask me to check after 2 hours on the status. The same day delivery have none
Online tracking info. They charge 35.85 + per hour rate on wait in line. More wait in line, more charging. I will came to know about cost
in the end of day

That's crazy. I had no idea courier companies can charge for waiting in line. You learn something new every day...

Yes - I think you should expect your first application to be refused. However hopefully your second application will arrive in time.

Will the cap be filled today? It's just guesses but what you guys think? :'(
I will hate BMO for life. They assured me money order is the same as certified cheque.

I think you definitely have a chance of making the cap.

Highly doubt it... but who really knows. Even just getting 500 apps today could cause massive lineups for courier companies if only 1 person is receiving everything.

The first hurdle is getting into the 5000 cap. Not sure how they assess completeness, but I'm sure there will be applications rejected. In which case you still have a chance. They might take up to a week to actually go through all the applications received. Until I get some sort of confirmation from CIC that my application is complete I am still a nervous wreck!!!

FYI - last year it took around 5-6 months for CIC to contact applicants and confirm their applications had been accepted as part of the cap.

Last year for many people, the first indication their app was accepted was seeing their credit card charged.

Do they charge the whole fee or just the $75 processing fee?

Then how can they announce in 2-3 weeks that the cap has been filled if they take that long to confirm completeness???

Doesn't make any sense. Unless, 5000 applications actually don't get processed. It might be 5000 cap just from initial assessment and then further filtering done by thorough assessment. Which means only about 2000 get actually processed per annual intake.

Bank draft , certified cheque & money order, all are fine. To check financial capability ,income tax return are received. In fact credit card payment means you are in debt. Do not worry.
If you see their another version of fee payment meant for PR, it says all three words. The version of form that we are using may not have written the same. It is okay.

Chinese forum said about 60 couriers lining up each with tens of package so the multiplication results in thousands app for today.
Not sure how true that is but usually major couriers deliver by noon, some of them & Canada Post by 4pm.

I hope there will still quota for Monday delivery. Fedex was able to pull back my wrong package from CPC-M mailroom. I dont want to take 2 spots in the quota one today one on Monday. Glad that Fedex was able to help. To me they are the most trusted.

Hi All,

I sent my application through UPS from Toronto.

The UPS guy asked me whether i am interested in 8.30AM delivery for $57. I was little hesitant because he mentioned that if the door is not open, then they will try before evening one more time... I thought that is risky.. ha ha

So, I paid for guaranteed Before 12PM delivery. Right now - the tracking shows Out for delivery at 7.15AM...... No updates after that.... Waiting for confirmation...

As regards last year, Around Jan 4th week, CIC said that the quota is filled. Mine reached Jan 27th though last year and returned by CIC after 4 months.

Hoping this time good luck.

No wonder there is a line up. There is only 1 person accepting at the CPC...Stephanie Reid. That's the same person I had too.
