I do not remember the checklist required a birth certificate from parents.

My mom does not have a birth certificate, so we only provided a copy of her passport and ID card. And we also had a note attached stating the reason why she does not have one.
We applied in 2015. Our case is almost done now.

So yeah, I would say it is ok for parents not having a birth certificate.
Thanks so much for reply. yes, the checklist do mention BC of primary applicant. I'm not sure what's the alternate to that ..
Any one in the forum with similar case , not having BC of parents and case approved.

Congrats! When did you receive the PPR email exactly? I will update the SS accordingly. For now, I put 29-Nov-2016.
Re: your question, it has already been answered. The PPR email is sent only to the Principal Applicant. And all PR applicants need to send passports and photos to the LVO.

If all passports are valid for more than 6 months (close to 1 year); then you don't have to worry a thing.

Here are few things you should know:
  • One needs minimum of 6 months validity remaining to enter US/Canada with most foreign passports
  • Canada only gives visa (any visa) till the validity of the passport
  • PR Visa is usually given till the validity of Medical. And medicals are valid for 12 months from the day it was done.
  • If you choose to renew your passport after getting PR Visa in old passport, the visa will still be valid as long as you attach your old passport with new one and the visa itself is valid. FYI, visas don't expire when the passport expires.
  • If you choose to renew your passport before submitting it for PR Visa stamping; it won't create any problem. It may be an issue if you have a tight deadline to submit.

Thanks Rossei for your response and for all the help you have provided through this forum. Nov 29th is infact the day my parents got the ppr letter.

Hello Rossie,

Need some advice : Our status is currently showing Background Check in progress(NVDO). My mother passport is expiring in July 2017 and she is currently in USA - leaving on Dec 20 for India(or may be she can come to Toronto).

With stats, I feel like calling her to Toronto so that I can get her PR visa stamped from Ottawa and also get her Indian Passport renewed here as she will be alone back in India without much help.

I am still waiting for PPR request but need your suggestion, if I should get Indian passport renewed here or should I wait for the letter and first get the PR Stamping/sent it to Ottawa and then renew the passport. I fear by the time my mother gets request for passport stamping, her passport may have less than 6 month validity.

Will Ottawa not stamp her passport if the validity is less than 6 month?

Thanks Much

Along with instructions for IME, the following documents were recently requested by CIC:
Hello:
do you have any update on your case? Your visa office and timeline is very similar to mine, so please share whether or not your mom's case has progressed further. Will really appreciate.

Since your BG in-progress now, I'm guessing that you already submitted IME/PCC/RPRF. If that's the case, PPR shouldn't take too long.

I really can't tell you to renew the PP now. I also don't know if Ottawa, or in fact any other LVO, strictly follows this 6-month or 12-month validity thing. BTW, Singapore-VO specified in their PPR email that my mom's PP should be valid for at least 12 months for PR Visa stamping.

In case, you bring your mom here from US, make sure she has at least 6-months validity on her PP to cross border (anytime this month should be fine). If you don't receive PPR before holidays, you can apply to renew her PP from Indian Embassy depending on how long it takes here in Canada.

If anyone has had any experience regarding furtherance medical request, such as what was the process, timeline, and what happened after you completed furtherance request, can you please share. Any help or input will be really appreciated.

@ Rossie - for updating timeline spreadsheet, we received furtherance letter today for the dependent.

Hello guys,
I want to apply for my parents this year and unfortunately I am slightly missing the min income for the last year (2013) only by about 3K CAD. I now have a good paying government job.

Was there anyone here that their sponsorship approved in a similar situation? Do how think it worth it for me to try ?

Thank you very much for helping me here...

Applications were rejected for few hundred dollars short of the minimum requirement let alone 3K.
