We are in the final stages. I would love to hear from anyone else going through the paris visa office and especially with spouses from Tunisia. Our file now says "We received xxx application xxxx" and then says "Medical results have been received" Has said this in the site now for 1.5 months. Does any one know what to expect next? Love to hear from you and your timelines. I was approved sponsorship Feb17th/2012 and also Feb17th/2012 it had these results in their system. Under Sponsor ship "Decision Made" and for Permanent Residence just that they received my husbands application and medical results received. Thank you :)

Hi, i know a friend who sponsored her husband from tunis and it took a year! He arrived last november! Good luck!!!

awww i am sponsoring my tunisian husband as well! (well, we are putting the application together and are about to send in maybe in a week hopefully!!) the france office says 8 months so i hope its still accurate!

Hello,

I sponsored my from Tunisian husband in 2010. It took about 5 months from when Paris received our application for him to receive approval. HE got an email right away when he was approved. However, he did not get called for an interview and never had to do a second medical. Once he was approved there were a few options. He sent some forms back to Paris and collected the actual visa in his passport in Tunis which took over a month.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for your reply. On Feb 17th I got an email from cic stating that I was approved and our file would be sent to the paris office. It has been a month and a half. Do you know if I am suppose to assume our file is in the paris office now? As in the section it just says medical results have been received, but it does not say that our file is in Paris. I called cic and they don't know either.

As long as you have been approved as a sponsor, they will get your file in Paris anywhere from 10-14 days afterwards. Files are transferred by diplomatic courier and they don't hold on to them at CPC-M once they are done with their part of the process.

I too am Sponsoring my wonderful Tunisian Husband, I applied Aug. 25th, 2011, Gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, Sept. 30th, 2011. My sponsorship got approved and sent to Paris on Nov. 22, 2011, PR in progress Feb.14, 2012, request for medical and resubmission of police docs., marriage cert., and birth cert. Feb 27th, 2012, Mailed these Papers March 7th, 2012, My husband is so eager to meet our daughter, the kids, and myself, anyone have any idea on how much longer this should take? And for what reasons might they reject a spousal immigration to Canada

That you have been requested to submit the originals and renewed medical and police certificates is a sign your husband's application is being finalized. It shouldn't be too much longer for them to request his passport to issue his visa. I wouldn't worry to much at this stage about him being rejected. :)

But I don't get it though, didnt you have to send police papers with the entire application? thats what they told me on the phone...

Yes, you do. Sometimes, however, for one reason or another, an applicant may be required to resubmit them. One reason is that they expire a year after they were done (as long as you get the application to CPC-M before they have passed 3 months since they were issued). I had to re-do mine because of this.

Thank-you for your response, how long does it take after doing these steps, that they will request his passport. He said on the papers asking for medical and paper resubmissions, it also asked for a copy of his passport, so he sent photocopies. I am wondering if they meant for him to send his passport. Do the instructions clearly state to mail in passport? Do they ask for passport before or after the decision has been made in the timeline?
