Sponsoring my Niece

I am a landed immigrant, and I live here with my family. I know that CIC website states that I can sponsor the following

brothers or sisters, nephews or nieces, granddaughters or grandsons who are orphaned, under 18 years of age and not married or in a common-law relationship
another relative of any age or relationship but only under specific conditions (see Note below)
accompanying relatives of the above (for example, spouse, partner and dependent children).
Note: You can sponsor one relative regardless of age or relationship only if you do not have a living spouse or common-law partner, conjugal partner, a son or daughter, parent, grandparent, sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece who could be sponsored as a member of the family class, and you do not have any relative who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident or registered as an Indian under the Indian Act

My Niece is an ophan(in fact, only survival in her family), and I would love to sponsor her. My confusion is she is above 18years.
Is this possible? If so, how should go about it?

I believe all the stipulations have to be there. So if she is under 18 then I would guess she cannot be sponsored in this sense.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

As you state that you live in Canada with your family, that means you cannot sponsor your niece. That would only apply if you had no spouse, kids, parents, siblings, etc. Since you have a family, you cannot sponsor her. Also, since she is over 18, she does not qualify under Family Class.

Your niece would need to look into qualifying independently, as a skilled worker or through one of the provincial programs.

But nothing is stopping her from applying indepenendently once she qualifies.

Truth is I feel sad that I can't sponsor her to be here with me. She has passed through a lot back home as an orphan.

Is she interested in studying? You can "sponsor" her for studies in Canada. She will have to earn her PR on her own, but if you have sufficient funds (10K + 1 years tuition + a plane ticket) between the two of you (and loans are okay), you could offer her a support letter.

If you're interested, I would suggest research student visas thoroughly before proceeding. My advice was very simple.

Because your niece is orphaned you can sponsor her, but only IF she is under 18. Which in your case, your niece is over 18 so you cannot sponsor her.

unfortunately you cannot sponsor her, she should be 18y/o and below., however you can assist her financially, (including housing and other basic needs) to study in Canada, just have to prove you can afford it.But, before that, she has or you need to have school acceptance in Canada.
