question for you bartjones, when you check your wife's application status on CIC webpage, what info does it have about her application?

For my wife's application under "Sponsorship Application Status" it says "Decision Made."

And under "Permanent Resident Application Status" it says "Application Recieved."

Is it the same for you?

Yes. Should be the same for Korea2Canada too. But I notice some March applicants through Manila got their visas this week so his may change soon.

I just looked at the Manila spreadsheet and there are several March applicants who got PPR between 136-147 days. Right now I am on day 98. 50 more days to go? :)

So if that holds true, my wife could get her PPR in December or January! That would be awesome for my wife.

I guess the 14 month wait is the suggested time but can get done faster depending on number of appl., etc. Anyway, nice to see the March group getting processed.

There are many factors that can make an application go "faster/slower" than normal. I would imagie having dependent children would make an application slower as that means there is extra paperwork for the VO to verify and things like that. Not to mention red flags on the medical check/background check among other things.

There is no paperwork for a child who already has canada citizenship (like ours). A photocopy of: passport, citizenship card, and birth certificate. I can't see that slowing anything down. Applications are qued and processed from date of receipt. A child without canada citizenship, yes I can see that taking more time to process.

Or it simply could be that the Manila office isn't overloaded with applications right now. Hopefully, that is the case!

Yes, lets hope that is the case for sure. Maybe bart will get PPR after sending in the new CBC. He applied in March - just 6 months ago! So, that would be great time.

Remember that for visa-exempt passport holders, a visa is not actually required to be put into the passport.

In our case, there was no PPR. They just mailed out the COPR as a final step. Though this was through former Seoul office, perhaps Manila just does PPR for everyone even if they don't really require it (like from Korea, Japan etc).
